The small village of Stretton-on-Fosse touches the Gloucestershire/Warwickshire border and a short drive from The Fosse Way but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet, making it a good base to tour the Cotswolds. There’s a good choice of fabulous local walks so bring the dog, they’ll love it. Many National Trust properties and gardens are on the doorstep including Hidcote Manor a short drive away. Drive to Moreton-in-Marsh train station for a leisurely journey to Oxford or London not forgetting the beautiful cathedral city of Hereford at the other end of the line.

On arrival at the property you will find a useful entrance hall for wellies and coats. The lounge/diner is very welcoming with ample seating, a TV/DVD/video. There is also a dining table with space for four diners. The spacious kitchen looks out into the garden and comes equipped with a brand new electric hob and oven, a microwave, washing machine and a fridge/freezer. Upstairs are the bedrooms, a double and a twin. Nearby is a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and WC for convenience.

Outside is a lovely, fenced, partially decked garden to the rear that has been landscaped to create a restful retreat with furniture, ideal for an early morning cup of tea. To the rear of the cottage is open countryside and to the front lies an open grassed area.

This is a fantastically well-located cottage in a lovely, friendly village with an excellent pub and well-used village hall, outdoor play area for kids and other facilities. It is very close reach by car of Moreton, Stow, Bourton to the south, and in easy reach of lots of Cotswold villages, amenities, and places of interest, so is well placed as a Read morebase for exploring across four counties. Even our teenager enjoyed himself - and the dog, too. Hide

Clean and tidy it was ok for a week . The step into the garden was about 12 inch or more so my mum never went out this did spoil are stay a bit. We could not use the patio

Pleasant cottage with pretty contained back garden. Lots pf wonderful walking with the aid of OS maps (provided) so great for dogs though you need to take plenty of dog towels as access is through the front door only - not ideal when returning with muddy dogs and boots! The house is pleasant, the kitchen adequate with plenty of equipment and 2 pleaRead moresant bedrooms upstairs. Very near to lots of gardens/Houses and lovely Cotswold villages. Nice place to stay. Possibly the best and most well-equipped holiday cottage we have stayed in. The property is an attractive mid-terrace cottage built in modern external brick offering a most attractive cottage-style interior with a reclaimed timber beam in the lounge off a useful entrance vestibule. Excellent Cottage in an ideal location for exploring the North Cotswolds, Stratford only 30 minutes or so away. Nice but quiet pub in the village. Supurb and very comfy mattress in the main bedroom.

Lovely quiet village. Cottage was comfy well equiped. I had the wood burner on most nights it was fab. Garden was great for my 2 dogs enclosed and secure. Will defo book again

Lovely cottage, in a great location. The local pub made the stay - about 4 minutes walk away, friendly but not too busy, dog-friendly and served good pub food. Lots of very pretty villages within a 15 minute drive, and lots of walks. Cottage was very well equipped (esp. kitched equipment, board games and local guides) and beautifully warm. We have Read morestayed in many places where we have been quite chilly, so this was a real bonus. Hide
