Many of the original features and the character, evoking life deep in the countryside, have been retained. Surrounded by horse paddocks, on a sprawling farm estate, it’s the very definition of a countryside hideaway. Close to the village of Clattercote, the property is at the centre of the historic-cultural axis of Oxford, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon. Banbury is about six miles away, and benefits from a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as being a great place for night time entertainment. Other top visitor attractions in the area include Warwick Castle, Heritage Motor Museum, the Malvern Hills and Blenheim Palace, and there are lots of pathways for ramblers to explore the area on foot.
On arrival at the cottage you will notice that it embraces an open-plan layout. The lounge area has ample comfy seating, with a TV. The kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice box, a dishwasher, a washer/dryer and a microwave. Also on the ground floor there are two comfortable double bedrooms. Close by, there is a bathroom with a shower over bath and WC. Upstairs there is a double bed on the mezzanine floor overlooking the living area below too, please note that the stairs are steep. There is also a fold up bed available for an extra visitor (please book ahead). There is no internal connection between the cottages.
Outside, there is a terrace and the pleasant garden space accessed from the house via French doors. The garden and farm is great place for outgoing children, as they can explore the grounds and play with the farmer’s friendly dogs. The shared garden area is enclosed from the farm and contains outdoor furniture and BBQs are provided too for evening cookouts. Guests are welcome to wander throughout the grounds – the owners ask that you take note that there is a pond near to the main house.
