Property code: CC042

A fine example of a period cottage complemented by touches of contemporary, this property makes the ideal home-from-home for anyone wanting to explore the beautiful Cotswolds.

Markets and fairs have been held in Stow-on-the-Wold’s square since the 12th century, and they still continue today, with events held on various dates weekly, monthly and yearly, so you could well catch one if you check local listings before heading on holiday. A bustling town with an array of shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs, it’s a popular destination that tourists from all over travel to visit, and also claims to be home to England’s oldest inn, The Porch House. Heading further afield, Chipping Norton is within easy reach, and there are many attractions for the whole family to enjoy, including Cotswold Motoring Museum, Cotswold Farm Park, and Bourton Model Railway Exhibition.

Entering the property, the first room is the well-equipped kitchen, which comprises of an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with WC. Leading from the kitchen is the cosy, open plan lounge/diner. Original features such as the beamed ceilings and stone work are complimented by the comfortable furnishings and coffee table, with a beautiful open fire and TV, perfect for cuddling up and watching a film during colder evenings. The dining table is large enough to seat four, ideal for sitting together to enjoy any home-cooked meals. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, the other with twin singles, and both benefitting from built-in wardrobes. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and WC.

The lounge opens onto the south-facing patio, which features garden furniture and a BBQ, making it perfect for al fresco dining in the sunshine and leading to a mature, lawned and fenced garden. There is private off-road parking by the front door.

There is a well stocked kitchen - tea, coffee, oil, kitchen roll, vinegar etc. Good amount of kitchen equipment but not a lot of food storage space so dont bring lots of stuff. Curtains in bedrooms fairly light if travelling in summer. House lovely and warm. Great location for walking into town yet no road noise.

We had a lovely break in Kissing Tree cottage. Very cosy especially the fire. Great location walking distance of Stow on the Wold. Excellent base for the Cotswolds. Would love to visit again.

This is a well located cottage for all of Stow on the Wolds amenities. If you are looking for a weekend retreat this is for you but be aware if staying any longer there is a lack of storage. The kitchen has plenty of equipment and the lounge/diner is well presented. This is a cosy cottage in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds

A lovely, cosy and comfortable cottage in a great location close to the centre of Stow on the Wold. The cottage was well equipped with clear instructions for all appliances etc. There was a very thoughtful welcoming gift of wine and shortbread when we arrived. Our children enjoyed the garden and there is also a great playpark nearby.

This property was booked as Kissing Tree cottage, but is called Lilac Cottage when you arrive. There was a tea tray complete with shortbread provided upon arrival as was a bottle of wine. I don't know how many guests had visited prior to us as lockdown had only been released a few weeks previously, but the cottage was full of dead spiders and a lotRead more of very dusty cobwebs round the skirting boards and the top of the walls. The towel rail in the bathroom and mirror were both wanting of a polish. Hide

Great location; quiet but 5 mins walk to town centre. Perfect cottage with lovely real log fire. Central heating efficient making it very comfortable over winter months. Nice welcome pack and seasonal decorations. Would definitely return.
