This charming courtyard cottage has been constructed from Mellow Hornton stone, exposed oak beams and rich red brick, finished with quality furnishings to offer the ideal base for a relaxing break.

This property is close the riverside market town of Banbury providing a blend of old and new with a wealth of history to explore including Mellow Hornton stone buildings, the modern shopping centre and a wide choice of shops. Banbury is situated on the River Cherwell within the Cherwell Valley, with excellent walking and cycling opportunities along the riverside paths, with many cafes, to grab a cup of coffee along the way. Close to the riverside town of Stratford-on-Avon, and Oxford, Warwick and the Cotswolds, known as Shakespeare’s Country. With many national trust properties and gardens to visit within easy reach, with is a great central location offering endless opportunities to explore.

 

Arriving at the stable entrance door, you walk through to a bright and cheerful lounge with beautiful exposed beams and warm red brick inviting you in to snuggle up on the comfy sofa with a good book or perhaps share a glass of wine or two with a movie on the TV and DVD player. If you choose to stay in for the evening through the property is a colourful fitted country kitchen/diner, well-equipped with mod cons including an electric oven with hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is a separate shared laundry room with a washing machine/dryer.The dining area has a dining table and chairs for two. On the same floor, you will find a double bedroom and a shower room with shower, wash basin and WC.

 

Outside, you will find private courtyard garden with furniture, where you can sit out and relax in the sunshine while taking in the peaceful country surroundings.

The cottage is situated on a working farm. It was very quiet and peaceful and a great place to explore the local area. The cottage was well equipped with all that you would need for your stay. I would say that the steps within the property could prove difficult to some people with any disability or isues wit walking. The area to park is directly alRead moreongside the cottage but is a gravel finish so uneven under foot. The owners were very pleasant and always available should you require anything. Hide

The location was great for us and the cottage was well-equipped and comfortable. The bedroom lacks space, so there is a bedside cabinet on one side of the bed and a small wardrobe on the other side, with no possibility to improve on that or increase storage for clothes etc. Whatever tree it is that overhangs the parking area drips spots of goo all Read moreover the cars, so park well away from there! Apart from that, the cottage and the situation was great. We were happy there. Hide

The Shippon was a very comfortable cottage, plenty of kitchen storage cupboards. The bed was a large size, and good to sleep on, although it was very high & my wife is short & has arthritis & struggled to get up. Would highly recommend cottage.
