Winchcombe is a small town with a selection of period properties to admire and a handful of shops to browse, as well as tea rooms and pubs. There is so much to explore in the surrounding areas, from the vast Cleeve Common with its rare plants, to Belas Knap long barrow, Hailes Abbey, Stanway House, and Snowshill. Sudeley Castle is just a short walk across the fields, or take a 25-mile round-trip by steam train from Toddington. The family will love a visit to Cotswold Farm Park, home of Adam Henson, or the Regency spa town of Cheltenham is only seven miles away. Stratford and Oxford are within an hour's drive, and popular Cotswold towns Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are within easy reach.
High ceilings and exposed beams give this barn conversion a sense of space and elegance as you enter the lounge. A piano sits in the corner and there is a selection of books and games to choose from, with comfortable soft furnishings to relax on, a TV/DVD for when you want to catch up on your favourite shows you’ve missed, and a gas fired remote control wood burner effect fire to keep everyone warm in winter. The beautifully fitted country-style kitchen is a large area, containing everything you might need during your stay, including an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is a separate utility room housing a washing machine and ironing facilities, and next to floor to ceiling windows is a dining table to seat up to six people looking out over the garden. One of the two bedrooms is located on the ground floor, with beautiful beams and a king-size bed, and the large wet room is also on the lower level, with a walk-in shower and WC. There are stairs leading to a mezzanine floor where there is a fold-out futon (a small 4ft double), and a TV for playing DVDs on (there is no aerial for this TV). The second bedroom has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (can be made into twin singles on request at time of booking), and has a small en-suite WC.
Outside there is an enclosed garden with a large bench and a BBQ, perfect for dining on a summer’s evening whilst looking across at the surrounding countryside. .
