The area surrounding the property is a fantastic choice for keen walkers. You will be within a ten minute downhill walk to the Tarka trail, popular with walkers and cyclists, and alive with all kinds of birds and wildlife. If you prefer a more challenging hike, drive up on to Exmoor and explore the national park’s rugged landscapes. A short car journey will take you into the village of Swimbridge with its quaint pub, and the ancient port of Barnstaple with many amenities is only four miles away. The two miles of golden sandy beach at Westward Ho!, and the sand dunes and seafront restaurants of Instow can all be reached with a 20-minute drive.
This delightful annexe has been finished to ensure guests have everything they need for a comfortable break in North Devon. On the ground floor, the kitchen is equipped with an integrated oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine, and from the kitchen window you can gaze out across the green fields. The lounge/kitchen/diner is all open-plan so as you prepare dinner in the kitchen, you won’t miss out on conversations in the lounge. The rest of the room offers a dining table, beautiful wood burner, comfortable seating, smart TV/DVD and hi-fi. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom has access to a private balcony which is a wonderful spot to really soak up the countryside views.
This spacious bedroom also has its own en-suite bathroom with separate shower and bath, WC and heated towel rail. Please note that there are sloping ceilings. As well as the private balcony, there are also doors from the kitchen which lead out on to a charming, enclosed rear garden with patio and small orchard. There is garden furniture so whether you choose to eat outside or simply relax with a glass of wine, it provides a lovely space to enjoy the views and the fresh countryside air. Your four legged friends will also love the enclosed dog exercise paddock only a few steps from the cottage, which is the perfect place to play ball!
