This pretty converted barn has been lovingly furnished by its creative and artistic owners and nestles amongst a small group of independently owned cottages that are part of a superb 1000 acre estate.

The property benefits from a great central location meaning that you will be perfectly placed for touring Devon and Cornwall, North and South. The ever popular coastal resort of Bude is only 13 miles and from here you can walk out on the South West Coast Path and explore the expansive sandy beaches, hidden coves and picturesque fishing villages that the area is famed for. Alternatively, stay closer to home and roam the estate on your doorstep, and enjoy the nearby nature trails and Forestry Commission woodland. Other attractions and places of interest accessible from here include Dartmoor National Park, Launceston Steam Railway, The Eden Project and numerous National Trust Properties.

Stepping into the property you are greeted by a spacious lounge which boasts a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. There is also a wood burner, TV, DVD, a selection of books and games in this room too. From this room, one step up takes you to a cosy twin bedroom and also on this level there is a double bedroom and shower room with shower and WC. One further step on this floor then takes you into the master bedroom and this offers a super-king-size bed, walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom which features a hand-held shower over roll-top bath and WC. Heading up the stairs you will then find yourself in a beautifully rustic kitchen/diner with beautiful exposed original beams. The kitchen area is compact but well-equipped and offers an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Handily, there is also a washing machine and tumble dryer located outside in the shed.

Towards the rear of the property and approached by a flight of steps from the driveway, there is a lovely enclosed garden. This offers a gently sloping lawn with brick built BBQ, and from this a couple of steps take you up to a spacious patio area with garden furniture. Garden games are provided in the shape of croquet, mini golf, giant pick-up-sticks and giant Jenga. There is also private parking for 2 cars to the front of the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely place to stay, very funky and quirky. The surroundings are so peaceful and definitely a lovely place to stay to relax and unwind. The cottage owners were very helpful with giving us information and making us feel welcome as well.

I loved our stay at the cottage, it was nice to have the hot tub as well. I feel on this holiday you need a car as the cottage it self is quite far from shops etc It was very dog friendly the cottage was lively and big and had enough room for them both lovely walks across fields on the doorstep

We enjoyed our stay in the area, but won't be booking this cottage again as it felt quite gloomy, especially the bathrooms which are built into the hill, so only tiny windows and very damp feeling, unlike the pictures on the website which look airy and light. No welcome pack as we have had at other cottages. The kitchen was well equipped however, tRead morehere were quick dry towels and bathrobes left, plenty of bath towels and pillows too. Mind the very slopey floor in the kitchen-diner mezzaine level! Hide

The cottage is in lovely countryside, a perfect peaceful hideaway with a couple of neighbouring cottages hidden away in the unspoilt acres of the owners land. It is a short drive (15/20 mins) to the nearest village. Hot tub and enclosed garden with bbq and games, large patio area on a sun trapped evening was very romantic.

Great location for walkers. Very secluded and peaceful. Not a good cottage for anyone who struggles with stairs as kitchen and dining are on a mezzanine and garden can only be accessed by uneven stone steps.

Despite the above we did enjoy our stay in the cottage. A higher standard of cleanliness would improve our ratings.
