The village of Newton Ferrers is just 10 miles from Plymouth. Surrounded by ancient woodland and creeks, the village sits on the Yealm estuary, the waters edge has a slipway and mooring for boats. There is a pub which serves food, a shop open 7 days a week and Deli/bakery and further two pubs in Noss Mayo, The Swan and The Ship Inn. Three miles down the road in Yealmpton is Ben's Farm shop selling organic, free range and sustainable food and interesting wine with a cafe and a PYO farm next door. The Warren is a beautiful stretch of coastline and circular walking routes take you along the cliff tops overlooking the sea. The village of Noss is a pleasant walk or if low tide one can walk across a causeway and offers two pubs. Attractions in the area include Saltram House and Gardens, National Marine Aquarium, the Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery and the Theatre Royal.
