The views across the rooftops from Carfax Tower or St Mary the Virgin worth the long ascent up stone staircases. A camera is essential needless to say. Situated on a 4-acre estate on the banks of the River Cherwell, you have the best of both worlds – a city on your doorstep, yet a good countryside feeling too.

On entry to the lodge, through a roomy lobby hall, you will find a large open plan living space. The lounge/kitchen/diner is airy and welcoming. The lounge area has comfy places to sit and unwind in front of the TV/DVD at the end of a day’s worth of exploration. A few feet away is the dining area with a table large enough for six diners. The kitchen area is equipped with electric oven and gas hob, hi-fi, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer. There is a  utility room containing a washing machine and tumble dryer. The three bedrooms includes two doubles, one of with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. The third bedroom is a twin. Nearby is the main bathroom with a shower over bath and WC.

Outside the holiday lodge is further access to four acres of gardens across a lovely lawn. Lovely accommodation, great setting with the River Cherwell at the bottom of a private garden allocated to Lodge 3. Very well equipped - even with a food processor! Towels provided excellent size and quality. Good location to visit the area - without too much travelling.

The lodge was exactly as seen in the pictures on website - spacious clean and comfortable in a beautiful peaceful location . The resident ducks and Peacock were a joy to watch - It was a perfect break for myself my elderly mother and my teenage children with easy access to local attractions .

Great base location to travel into the Cotswolds and oxford. The owners are just lovely and came to check on us most days to see how we were. Added bonus of the wildlife and fishing. The pictures do not do this lodge justice - it is much nicer and more than a wooden lodge ! We will be returning !
