Market towns of Barnstaple and South Molton are 12 and 10 miles away, with Exeter Cathedral 25 miles away.
The scenic Tarka Line railway which runs from Barnstaple to Exeter and then on further to the seaside town of Exmouth on the South Devon Coast can be accessed from Eggesford Station (7 miles) and on request from Umberleigh (6 miles) where you can park up and enjoy a fun day out without the hassle of driving. ‘Rover’ hop on hop off day tickets are available. You can even enjoy the Tarka Line Ale Trail Exploring on foot or by pedal there are some great options nearby. Hire a bike and set off from Barnstaple on the Tarka Trail, 30 miles of cycle and walking track which takes you through canopy covered paths along the Torridge River and on past the estuary beach at Instow. A must visit is to the stunning RHS Rosemoor, it’s a wonderful day out for all the family with great emphasis on involving children in fun workshops and activities throughout the holiday periods. Many other opportunities for family fun days out are, Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Exmoor Zoo, Ilfracombe Sea Safari and a day trip to the enchanting Lundy Island.
On entering the property off there is a spacious hallway on entering the property with an under stairs store cupboard and also a separate ground floor WC. Off to the left you enter the spacious, well-equipped kitchen/diner, the kitchen offers two electric ovens and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. To the rear of the kitchen the utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. To the right of the entrance hall a spacious dining room with beamed ceiling and fireplace housing a wood burner. French doors from this room lead into the large garden. Following on within the house the dining room leads into the very spacious lounge with large leather sofas and chairs, Smart TV and another fireplace with wood burner. Stairs rising from the lounge lead you to a large and airy landing which leads to four en-suite bedrooms. Each room is beautifully furnished, one super-king-size (which can be made up as a twin on request) with en-suite shower and WC, a super-king-size (which can be made up as a twin on request) with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC, one king-size (which can be made up as a twin on request) with en-suite shower and WC and a further kingsize bed, which can be made to a twin on request.
Outside the property guests can enjoy two large garden areas. The first can be accessed from the French doors leading from the dining room doors. This area is totally enclosed, mainly laid to lawn with shrubs and planters for seasonal colour and interest. Within this are there is a large patio area with a large garden table and benches. This area is particularly suitable for children and dogs as it is totally enclosed and immediately adjoins the property. The second garden area is to the front of the property within which guests will find a wooden cabin which can be used to BBQ in or just an additional ‘outside’ space to spend time with a few logs lit on cooler day situated on the lawned area. Also to the front of the property guest will find a Games Room which is within a beautiful, listed, Roundhouse barn. Here guests can play table tennis, table football, darts alongside a range of table games.
