There is a choice of pubs in the village, home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery and the grammar school where William Wordsworth was once a pupil. Hawkshead also has a selection of interesting shops and plenty of places to eat out. The village enjoys a prime location at the heart of the region, with both Lake Windermere and Coniston being a short drive away. Not to be missed is a visit to Claife Viewing Station, just a ten-minute drive away, a purpose-built viewing platform which offers majestic views over Lake Windermere.
Entering through the side-porch of the property, guests will come to the first of two living areas: the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This room has a contemporary feel and has deep, comfortable sofas from which to watch the TV or simply relax in front of the wood burner. The dining table seats six and is situated by the French windows which lead out to the garden. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, electric hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A second, separate lounge at the front of the property looks out over a neighbouring fields and has an open fire, comfortable seating, TV, and DVD. There is also a WC on the ground floor. On the first floor, guests will find three bedrooms: a double, a twin, and a single room. The bathroom is also on the first floor, and benefits from both a bath and separate shower, as well as a WC.
Outside, there is an enclosed garden with a patio area with table and chairs, where guests can enjoy al fresco dining. There is bike storage.
