Charming eco-friendly cottage enjoying a tranquil location with stunning countryside views, located close to the village of Hawkshead.

This property enjoys a stunning location at the heart of the Lake District, with the village of Hawkshead, famous for its connections to William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, just 1.5 miles away. There are several National Trust properties here, as well as shops and pubs. The larger town of Ambleside is around a fifteen-minute drive away and is the departure point for a number of popular cruises on Lake Windermere. The location of the property means that it is a wonderful base for anyone who wants to make the most of the regions walking routes and there are even walks directly from the cottage itself. Nearby Coniston water is a great place for visitors to try their hand at a range of water sports, including paddle-boarding, canoeing, windsurfing and rowing.

This beautiful property makes a wonderful base to return to after a busy day of sightseeing, walking, climbing or water sports, offering a restful countryside retreat. On entering the property, guests come immediately to the stylish and sunny kitchen/diner which is well-equipped with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher, A kitchen island offers a great place to prepare meals, perhaps whilst watching the TV. The dining area, at the far end of this room, is especially light, as it surrounded by windows on three sides. Just off from this room, guests will find a separate utility room, with a WC, washer, and tumble dryer. The lounge has some lovely original features, including the beamed ceiling and stone fireplace, which now houses a cosy wood burner. Comfortable chairs and sofas here make it a great place to relax whilst watching the TV and DVD. To the first floor of the property, there are three bedrooms. Two of these are double rooms, each with its own TV/DVD and en-suite shower room with WC. The third bedroom is an attractive twin room. The main bathroom, which is also on the first floor, has a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, the property has a good-sized garden which benefits from both patio and lawn areas, beyond which the property also has ownership of an extended area of land with trees. It is even possible to follow the path straight from the property into the nearby village of Hawkshead. A thoughtful additional feature out here is a convenient drying room where guests can leave their walking clothes and shoes to dry out. There is off-road parking for two cars. The property’s eco credentials include a ground source heat pump and solar panels which together keep the cottage lovely and warm, no matter the temperature outside.

Really enjoyed our stay at this superbly located cottage. Highly recommend for families. The large, secluded and safe garden is particularly good. Our one request to the local cottage management team during our study was handled promptly and efficiently.

Lovely cottage, well equipped and very clean. Nice large sitting room, unfortunately our holiday was cut short by a power cut after recent storms, but we would love to book the cottage in the future.

A lovely quiet and private location with terrific views. The place itself is quirky and full of character, with a very cosy living room and bright and airy kitchen/diner. Plenty of room upstairs and a fabulous enclosed garden. The boot room/drying room outside is very handy too!

Absolutely immaculate - cleanest cottage we have ever stayed in. In particular we loved the benefit of a lovely secure garden, and it really is secure so no chance of our dog escaping!. The kitchen/dining area was a joy to sit at for the 6 of us to eat and play games in such a lovely big airy space.

Beautiful cottage with pretty garden in peaceful location. Walking distance from Hawkshead. Make sure you take plenty of bird food to fill the many feeders. We spent ages watching over 13 species including a pair of woodpeckers. Lovely.
