First-floor apartment in 40-acres of grounds on the shores of Esthwaite Water, a short drive from the village of Hawkshead.

This apartment benefits from an absolutely stunning location on the edge of Esthwaite Water, surrounded by mountain views and miles of scenic walks. The village of Hawkshead is close by, with its Beatrix Potter Gallery, shops, including a lovely deli, and choice of pubs. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are a short drive away, where it is possible to take boat trips and try your hand at a range of water sports.

Approaching the property up the sweeping drive, guests will immediately feel that they are stating somewhere truly special. A private walkway at the rear of the property leads to the front door of the apartment, where guests will find the spacious lounge/diner with its comfortable seating, electric fire, TV and DVD. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, and microwave, whilst there are laundry facilities available for guests’ use onsite. The property’s relaxing bedroom has a double bed and dressing table, and an en-suite shower room with WC.

Outside, the property has shared access to a huge 40-acres of grounds, including lovely landscaped gardens with plenty of seating areas, woodland and lakeside access, perfect for watching the sunset over the mountains. The play area is a great place for children to burn off some energy, with its swings, climbing frame, and outdoor table tennis. Off-road parking is provided.

We had a great week and the accommodation was fine. Whilst the dcor was a bit tired and dated it all worked well enough the location, views and grounds more than made up. We would certainly not hesitate to book it again.

Location is brilliant quiet and relaxing but close enough to Hawkshead for meals and all local amenities. The grounds to the house are fantastic well looked after by Alan and Patrica. The house offers some lovely little extras such as the rowing boats and the golf as well as a very useful drying room and the milk man.

The apartment was very comfortable, set in beautiful grounds and had a wonderful view from the lounge however the bathroom in particular would benefit from being updated. It is a mile to the nearest shop in Hawkshead There are also quite a number of steps to climb to get to the apartment so care needed in wet weather.

Very pleasant cabin and would stay there again. Take note of the large number of steps to access the property if steps are a problem for you ( fine for us).
