We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Judges Lodging - a fascinating conversion with lots of character and very comfortable. The village of Hawkshead is delightful and we were pleased wed chosen to be there rather than in a larger location.

The Judge's Lodging is perfectly situated minutes from the Co-op (with free cashpoint) and Post Office. The ground floor kitchen/dining room is particularly roomy and, having a stone floor, means you don't have to worry if you come in with wet feet (it is the Lake District after all). Having three toilets is also very handy!

Just returned from a 5 day break here and have to say the cottage was fabulous. Fantastic location in the heart of the village whilst being quiet too. Beautifully appointed and cosy , we especially loved the country stone floored kitchen. Whilst not being any problem for us some may find the number of stairs an issue with the layout being over 3 flRead moreoors. That said we have come home and booked again straight away for the same time next year !! Hide

The property is perfect as long as you don't mind stairs. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and very well equipped. It is very peacefully situated yet only a few metres from all the village amenities. Perfect for a walking holiday, there's no need to use the car at all.
