Wow! What a location. I love the basic ness quirkiness and history of the property, total isolation and peace. If you love major creature comforts then its not for you but if you love as I mentioned above....and being back to nature.... I loved sharing the history of this building and the Surrounding area.

I could write a 10 star review all day for this absolutely wonderful cottage. A hidden oasis steeped in history & surrounded by woodlands and nature. If youre looking to slow down, relax and sit on a swing with a cup of coffee and swing over the stream that runs below and only hear the noise of sheep and cows and endless views of green fields and tRead morerees, then this is the place for you. Big comfy beds, log fire with endless wood, good appliances and comfy interior. Did not miss having a TV. Hide

Fabulously qwirky place to stay! The accomodation is much bigger than I realised from the description. This place has enough home comforts - beds were heavenly and lounge/diner a really cosy room - with masses of old world charm to make this a really magical place to stay. The garden is big. Internal stairs not suitable for anyone with mobility issRead moreues (including older dogs!), but there are external doors on every floor and we just walked them round! Loved, loved, loved it! Totally recommend. Hide

An amazing experience and the background rush of the brook and cascade was a continual backdrop throughout the week, probably made more insistent by the, quite frankly, appalling weather most of the week so I didn't get the benefit of quaffing a glass of two outside but the sitting room, woodburner and pleasant kitchen were ample substitutes. It waRead mores, in 30 years of visiting Cumbria, probably the worst week's weather I have ever encountered but the cottage was one of the loveliest. Hide

We absolutely loved our week at Bobbin Mill. From the history of the house to the location it is an absolute gem. We enjoyed playing table tennis and my daughter enjoyed the swing, stream, exploring and the WIFI. My wife enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels and she wished she had taken her trail cam to see what other wildlife was in the area. This place is just magic. We had a wonderful week lost into the woods. Quiet, birdwatching, hikes and walks all around. It was so sad leaving this amazing place.

This is my second visit to Bobbin Mill and hopefully not my last. The Mill won't be everyone's cup of tea and that's fine by me. (It'll make it easier for me to book again in the future). I love the old-fashioned style of the place, and that it has no TV nor Wi-fi - heck, barely any mobile coverage at all. But the wildlife, the stream, the ambienceRead more, the fire are all marvellous. A perfect location for getting out on the Fells too. We had the best week since Covid's cheerful arrival last year.
