Attractive 17th century listed cottage in the village of Far Sawrey with easy access to countryside walks, a short drive from Lake Windermere.

This cottage enjoys a quiet location in the small village of Far Sawrey, with its popular pub the Cuckoo Brow Inn. Just half a mile away is the neighbouring village of Near Sawrey, where visitors will find the National Trust managed Hill Top, former home of Beatrix Potter. A little further along the same road brings visitors to the attractive village of Hawkshead with its range of shops, pubs, and National Trust properties. Just over a mile from the property is the western shore of Lake Windermere, from where the ferry runs across the lake to the opposite side.

On entering the cottage, a flag-stoned hallway brings guests to the lounge with its feature fireplace, comfortable seating, TV/DVD, and views across the garden. The pretty dining room has an antique dining table for four and a door leading out to the garden, views of which can be enjoyed from the armchairs, making this an enjoyable space to relax. The property’s kitchen has a beamed ceiling and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washing machine.  Half way up the stairs you will find the compact bathroom which offers a bath with handheld shower and WC. On the first floor you will find three pretty bedrooms: a double and two single rooms. There is also a separate WC on this floor.

To the rear of the property is an enclosed garden with a patioed seating area close to the house, beyond which is a pretty lawn. Guests are able to access the owner’s secure garage which provides a place to store bikes and muddy boots. There is off-road parking for two cars provided.

Lovely little cottage. Basic kit but all worked and clean and comfortable. WiFi is a bit temperamental especially in the evening. Great walks from the cottage

Quaint cottage in a beautiful area. Lovely enclosed garden. My husband found the bathroom set up extremely trying! Cooker & fridge could do with being updated.

Thank you to the Owner and all others who made it possible for me to stay at Pepper Yeat. I wanted for nothing, perfect for me and my Springer. For me there should be no changes, I loved it for what it is. Thank you again. Roger Hamlett

It is what it says, a 17th century ( part of ) cottage, so do not expect luxury. Lovely location with the local pub, serving good food, within a 3 minute walk.

We know this area well, holidaying annually for the last 10 years in Far/Near Sawrey. Excellent location with pubs within walking distance. Lots of walks from the door. Use of the garage was really helpful to store bikes. Listed cottage with beautiful small garden. Only downside is if you are a tall family then the bathroom setup is quite awkward wRead moreith the sloping ceiling. The interior of the cottage is quite small/cosy for a family of 4 on a rainy day. Three great bedrooms and two toilets. Very well equipped kitchen and great dining room. It was very comfy and cosy. In a very quiet location just two minutes walk to a great pub with a great selection of ales etc. And some great food. Some great walks from the front door saved having to get behind the wheel of the car every day. We would definitelyRead more book again. Hide

Beautiful little cottage perfectly situated for Windermere and Coniston and everything both these areas have to offer. It was great to have the three bedrooms which were all of a very decent size, and we loved having dinner in the garden room / dining room. Lovely garden with outstanding views.
