The mock-Gothic Wray Castle is just a short distance from the property and is one of the stops on the popular leisure cruise which tours the lake departing from Ambleside, which is within four miles of the property and offers a range of shops, eateries, and choice of boat trips. The area has a choice of lovely country pubs, including The Outgate Inn and The Drunken Duck Inn, which are just over two miles from the property which can be reached by several delightful scenic routes, on foot, cycle paths as well as by road.
Entering this cottage through the porch, guests will come to the welcoming and homely lounge/diner, with its beamed ceiling, fireplace with wood burner, comfortable seating, and TV/DVD. To one end of this room, there is a dining table and chairs and a door which leads out onto the property’s rear garden. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, as well as an extra dining table, which makes a great place for breakfast. To the first floor of the property, there are three bedrooms, all with sloping ceilings and dormer windows. The first of these is a lovely light and airy twin room, which can be made up as a king-size on request. The second room is a double, whilst the third is a cosy single room. The bathroom is also on the first floor and offers a shower over the bath and WC.
Outside, the property enjoys a large enclosed garden which is mainly set to lawn and offers plenty of quiet space for guests to relax in, and for children to play games. To the side of the property there is also a patio area with table and chairs, which provides a wonderful sunny place to relax with a drink or an alfresco meal.
