Hawkshead is known all around the world for its connections to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, both of whom are celebrated in two of the village’s National Trust properties. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both within a five-mile drive of the cottage with a great range of water sports for all the family.
This cottage offers a wonderful break away from the stresses of everyday life, and guests will immediately feel relaxed as soon as they enter the comfortable lounge with its sofas, electric fire, TV/DVD, and hi-fi. The property’s kitchen/diner is light and spacious, with a pine dining table seating six, oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Just off from this room is a wonderfully light and sunny conservatory, which offers guests a place to sit with a drink and enjoy the uninterrupted views over the neighbouring countryside. There is also a handy ground-floor WC. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, all of which are tastefully decorated in a restful and understated style. The first of these is a king-size room, whilst there is also a twin room and a bunk bedroom which is suitable for younger guests. The bathroom, also located on the first floor, has a shower over the bath and WC.
Outside, the property enjoys a quiet, attractive garden with patioed seating area.
