Broad Howe is in a perfect location and has a lovely family feel to it with all its history and photos etc. A very special place in a very special part of our country.

The 5 of us hugely enjoyed our week at Broad Howe. The views are the best I've had in any house in many years of coming to the Lakes. Having grown up in this house ( 1940 - 1950 ) it is pure nostalgia to stay here especially as it is now warm, comfortable and very well equipped. Of course the views and setting are stunning as is the privacy. So quiet and yet not far from Hawkshead and of course the Lakeland fells.

I have been visiting Broad Howe since 1972 either for tea with relatives or in later years to stay for holidays. The view from the veranda over the lake is my screen saver. Just sitting outside watching the weather roll in is so peaceful. Close to heaven on earth.

Clearly a well loved family home that has kept it's warmth and cosiness. The views and walks from the house are stunning in any weather which made it very suitable for all our party: of all walking abilities.

A beautiful homely bungalow with amazing views and a lovely garden with woodland at the back. Lovely that I could bring my dogs. The main garden isn't totally enclosed but the woodland at the top of the garden is deer proof, and mainly dog proof except for a few openings at the bottom of the stone wall which little dogs can get through. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Broad Howe. Fantastic location just up the road from Hill Top and wonderful views making Broad Howe feel unique and in the heart of the countryside. The cottage itself was very well equipped and it was easy to settle in with ease given its lived in environment. We'll definitely be back.

We stayed at Broad Howe in spring last year and just had to return to this very special place this autumn. I have visited Broad Howe since I was 2 in 1931 when my grandparents lived there. During the war I lived there with my cousins. Then my parents retired there and I was married from there. For ten years I and my brother looked after it. So it is my beloved home when I go back.
