Spacious property located in the village of Hawkshead, in a popular area of the Lake District, within easy reach of both Lake Windermere and Coniston Water.

Hawkshead is one of the region’s best-loved villages, celebrated for its pretty winding streets and literary heritage. The Beatrix Potter Gallery here offers seasonally changing exhibitions about the author’s life and work. The scenery is, of course, absolutely stunning and Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both within easy reach, as is Grizedale Forest, with its walking routes, sculpture trail and high-ropes centre.

Entering this handsome double-fronted property, guests will come to the hallway, which has doors on either side leading to the reception rooms. The first of these, to the right-hand side is an elegant lounge with an open fire, bay window, and comfortable seating. This room is separated from the attached TV room by a curtain, giving this space the flexibility to be used to suit guests’ needs. The TV room has a less formal feel and has a TV/DVD. Crossing back over the hall, the dining room is a wonderfully spacious room with a large table seating twelve, a stylish Welsh dresser, and a piano that guests are welcome to play. An archway from here leads through to a second lounge, with comfortable sofas. A corridor from the this room, takes guests to the kitchen with its freestanding units, Range-style cooker, fridge, and dishwasher. Next to the kitchen is a large boot room, with plenty of shelving to keep muddy footwear, a freezer, and with attached shower room with WC, is a very convenient addition to the house. A door opposite here leads out to the garden. Finally, at rear of the house, there is a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, and a second fridge. Stairs from the hall lead to the bedrooms which are all located on the first floor. Four of these are double rooms, three of which have en-suite shower rooms and WC, whilst the fourth has a handy sink. There are then two single rooms and one twin, which also has an en-suite shower room. There is also a shower room with WC, as well as bathroom with bath and WC.

Outside, there is a patio garden with a range of seating and a BBQ. There is ample off-road parking provided for up to six cars.

We really enjoyed our stay here, celebrating my mums 70th birthday.The house was ideal for our party of 12 with small children. There is plenty of space with 3 sitting areas and a lounge with t.v and DVD player.The house is well placed in the heart of the village and a short drive away to all the main lake towns. We had a lovely meal in the Kings ARead morerms. The kids enjoyed Brookhole House which had lots of activities and a great playground. Grizedale forest was only 10 mins away. Hide

A nice, quiet location within a stone's throw of Hawkshead centre, this is a spacious property perfect for families or groups of friends. Location almost ideal, with shops and restaurants within yards, and walks to Latterbarrow, Wray Castle and Grizedale without using car. Greenbank was an excellent choice for our annual reunion with university friends. Everyone had their own en-suite or bathroom and the downstairs accommodation was second-to-none. The boot room and laundry room were a bonus and there were plenty of comfortable sofas for us all. We had a fabulous family holiday in this property and it catered so well for a large number of people. We've recently enjoyed a fantastic stay at Greenbank. For 3 families together with 7 kids the supplies of the kitchen and dining room were plentiful. The layout downstairs worked for us enabling the kids to have movie night whilst we adults could choose to join them or not by the connecting lounge. Two fridges is a must and was most welcome, with aRead more useful utility room and boot room. The only downside was the upstairs needed updating. We stayed for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the area. The house was brilliant and suited our needs perfectly. There was space for all to sit together or in groups if they wanted to. One of our group was a chef and described the kitchen as a chefs dream. Cottage in fabulous location. Plenty of room for 10/12 people although not for 6 couples as there are 2 single bedrooms. More than enough pots and pans if you want to eat in although not necessary as there are 4 wonderful pubs serving good food within a couple of hundred yards

Fantastic property with the most perfect location for what we needed needed it. Nice little touch with the welcome basket and being allowed to get early access was a great bonus. Staff at the office were brilliant and couldn't be more helpful if they tried. It's safe to say that we'll be hopefully booking again for the same time next year!!!!

The house is in a perfect location, nice and close to pubs and shops in Hawkshead. We chose this property to spend a weekend with friends and family to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. It had plenty of bedrooms with 4 being ensuite. These ensuite bathrooms were very small but did what they were supposed to. Greenbank is an excellent house close to the centre of Hawkeshead. We stayed there for a family get together and had a wonderful time. We had intended to eat out but the well appointed kitchen made it a pleasure to cook family meals together. Would heartilly recommend.
