The cottage is set in the popular  village of Bellingham, a great base if you want to explore Northumberland’s treasures. You are also only 12 miles from Hadrian’s Wall. Further afield there are more than 30 miles of beaches to explore, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as lovely seaside villages to explore and not to be missed the magnificent Bamburgh Castle. Take a boat trip to the Farne Islands, rated as one of the top wildlife experiences in the country. There is also plenty to see if you want to stay local, Hareshaw Linn Walk a stunning walk through the countryside and the remains of the old ironworks that ends in a spectacular 30ft waterfall.

Enter the property through the kitchen, entrance next to the parking bay, into the kitchen with ample storage cupboards, electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and microwave, and head through the pine door into the lounge and dining area, a real country cottage ambience awaits with the pine dining table, welsh dresser and a bookcase full of books, DVDs and board games to enjoy whilst toasting in front of the wood burner. Take the door out into the entrance hall where you will find coat hooks and room to put those muddy boots, the cottage front door takes you out to street level. Heading upstairs you will find one double bedroom, you will also find an additional good-sized room with a single bed and wardrobe, on this floor you will also find a bright bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Enjoy a morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening on the outside bench.

This is a lovely cottage in a great location for exploring Hadrian's Wall and Northumberland. Shops, pubs, and gas station in town all very useful due to distance from other towns. Would love to come again.

The cottage was ideally located within a short walk of cafes, pubs and shops. It was spotlessly clean, strong pressure in the shower and extremely comfortable beds.Our car is a mini clubman which fitted nicely on the paved area in front of the back door. A lovely place to stay: peaceful, warm, clean, comfortable. An excellent location with plenty of places to walk and eat, and shops within a couple of minutes walk. The cottage was very well equipped. We would highly recommend this place for 2 or 3 people.

The cottage is in a great location in the centre of town and at the start of the riverside walk. It has everything you need and though small is really well laid out and comfortable. The owner was really helpful when we had to ring him about a problem with the smoke alarm. We really enjoyed our stay.

A very comfortable, clean cottage in a lovely peaceful location - lots of storage space and very well equipped. Being so close to shops and cafes was a real bonus. The local walks straight from the cottage were super. Unfortunately the waterfall walk was closed for repair but should be open very soon. The cottage was very clean and tidy. Its location is great for exploring the surrounding area and after a long day out was very comfy and relaxing on return. The full size freezer came in very handy. All in all one of the best places we have stayed at in a long time would recommend to everyone.

This was a really lovely cottage, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and we had the best nights sleep ever. The location is good - shops and pubs just up the road, friendly people, and lots to do and see in the area. Apart from the lovely walks we enjoyed locally, we saw the Kielder Lake area, visited the cRead moreoast around Alnwick, went to both Hexham and Corbridge, both interesting towns, and drove to Hadrians Wall and saw the wonderful Roman fort. This is the second time we've stayed in this cottage, as a getaway for 2 it is perfect for us. The town has great amenities (especially with the addition of the local brewery tap room) and is in an ideal location - we've stayed for running events at Kielder Water and visited Bamburgh to the East, and places to the West as well. We recently had a two week stay at Brookside Cottage and cannot recommend it highly enough. On arrival it was spotlessly clean and everything we would need for our stay was provided. There is plenty of walking during the day and on return once the log fire was burning in the evening it felt so cozy and relaxing.
