Located on the edge of the Peak District, on a 26-acre estate in the grounds of a former 500 year old hotel, this is the ideal holiday home for those looking to explore and appreciate this truly awe inspiring area. A great base for those who love the outdoors with many treks and trails in the area. A wealth of National Trust properties are easily accessible including Nostell Priory and Parkland, Hardcastle Crags, East Riddlesden Hall and Lyme Park to name but a few. The small town of Holmfirth is close by.

Enter the property and step into the kitchen, a light and spacious room with wooden floors, beautifully high ceilings with exposed beams and velux windows. The well-equipped kitchen provides the perfect space for cooking up a storm and has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine. Leading on from the kitchen, there is a spacious and stylish double bedroom with its own access to the delightful patio area and an en-suite bathroom with bath, rainfall shower and WC. From the kitchen, take a few steps down through the wide hallway to the lounge/diner where you will find a warm and inviting space for socialising, feasting and watching the Smart TV or playing games. Amazing place for the price. Just a few niggles that need to be addressed but other than that it was fantastic and the photos dont do it justice.

The cottage is reasonably comfortable, but is a little tired and several features need attention. In terms of facilities and location, we thought we had done okay for ourselves. The cottage is beautifully located in the grounds of the Hall. We particularly enjoyed the wall garden and were able to buy some fresh produce from the gardener. There are so many lovely attractions and walks; particularly the reservoirs, peaks and caverns which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

Very quiet and cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Appreciated the welcome pack with breakfast products, bread and milk - nice touch. A great Cottage to use as a touring base for West Yorkshire and the Northern Peak District. Warm and comfortable after a day out site seeing, walking or cycling. Wortley is on the Trans Pennine Trail. Cottage doesnt have a garden, just a patio to sit out on surrounded by trees and wall. Absolutely wonderful place to stay, nice spacious comfy cottage perfect location for some lovely walks and having the little village shop and pub just a short walk away was great. Great having hot water and heating whenever you need it especially in the cold weather.
