The cottage forms part of a small group of dwellings nestling on a quiet lane and only a short walk into the village. George Stephenson birthplace is within the village, one of the early railway pioneers, now owned by the National Trust. The village is on the north bank of the Tyne River with beautiful riverside walks and cycle routes. A great destination for those who enjoy cycling, walking and adventure. Just a short drive away discover the market town of Hexham with its magnificent abbey, river, and beautiful Sele Park. Enjoy fabulous walks along Hadrian’s Wall visiting Roman Forts along the way. Roman history, ancient pubs, quirky shops, and river walks await in Corbridge. Discover Blue Flag beaches at Whitley Bay and Tynemouth and Northumberland’s many coastal villages and castles, including Alnwick Castle and Gardens famous for the Harry Potter films.

Enter through the wrought iron gate onto the traditional stone flagged front garden, into the entrance hall with stairs leading to the first floor. The doorway off to your right takes you through to an inviting lounge with a gorgeous wood burner, comfy sofas and chairs to relax and enjoy a film or catch up on your favourite TV show on the Smart TV/DVD. Take the door off the lounge through into the kitchen/diner with its family sized table to enjoy breakfast and a meal together. The kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave and there are patio doors that lead outside. A pine door takes you through to an inner hall with a separate WC, door to the rear courtyard and a twin ground floor bedroom. Heading upstairs, you will find a light and spacious double bedroom with walk-in closet providing ample storage, further along the landing is a twin bedroom and a bathroom which has been traditionally designed with bath, shower and WC.

Heading outside, there is a stone paved enclosed front garden with bench and to the rear of the property there is a small enclosed courtyard with seating and just across a private lane is a further garden area for guests to enjoy. There is also a garage to provide secure storage for bicycles.

Clara View is a cozy cottage in a sweet village with loads of history. A great place to explore Durham, Teeside and Newcastle.

Wylam is a lovely village and Clara View is in a lovely little terrace within a really easy walk to the shops, cafes and pubs. It is also an easy drive into Newcastle which was important for us as our daughter lives there, there is a train station as well although we didn't use the train. This property is in the beautiful Wylam. It is very spacious and just off the main road so all the pubs, cafes and shops are within easy walking distance. Highly recommend a visit, a beautiful clean property everything you need. We had a fantastic week, a beautiful place plenty of pubs, shops and a wood fired pizzeria yum. Lots of places to visit and places to walk, very dog friendly. We will be booking again for longer this time.

Clara View is a lovely property that feels homely and loved. It is well cared for and it's facilities are excellent, has one of the best bathrooms of a holiday rentals we have stayed in. The garden is small low maintenance but there are walks nearby to take your dogs out. The village has great facilities and the Wood Oven serves fantastic pizza. ThRead moree parking can be a bit of a pain unless you have a small car, we had to park up the street 5 out of 7 days as the neighbour left little room to park. Hide

So nice of the owners to share their beautiful home. There is just about everything you need on the doorstep., and it is great to be able to have many wonderful walks close by. I have so wanted to revisit Northumberland the birthplace of my father. Its got to be one of the most beautiful places in the Country.

Very nice cottage in a lovely rural location. Amenities are all very close. Parking is ok but sometimes you have to park a couple of doors up from Clara View. It was perfect location to visit my family and it is the second time we have stayed here. We will be back again soon. Thank you

Charming end terraced cottage very nicely presented well equipped and suitable for dogs. The parking was well described and worked perfectly especially as we had two vehicles . Lovely walks literarily a stroll straight down the path across the road on down to a foot bridge to the old railway line which has been turned into a wonderful country park Read morewalking area next to the river . Lovely welcoming house. Beds very comfortable. Great to have the woodburner. We had some issues with cleanliness which we have fed back to owner (no response yet). Furniture in living room very tired. Wylam is a lovely village/area.

A lovely holiday cottage. Very clean, lots of space, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. We had a lovely stay and would definitely book it again. Wylam is a nice village with good walks nearby and ashort drive to the coast. The train station easy access to Newcastle and Hexham.

The cottage was very nice, well equipped kitchen. The heating could have been made clearer on how to get it on, but after a couple of cold days and nights I managed to get it on. It was a perfect location to visit family. I have just booked to come up again next year. Definitely recommend it, a very nice cottage, good sized and walking distance to Read moreamenities. Hide

Perfect location however feedback has been provided separately to the owners regarding the cleanliness & decoration of the property. Also the heating appeared to only be controlled by the owners - no instructions were in the booklet provided in the property. Such a shame as this house could be so much more!

Had a marvellous stay at Clara Vale. Would highly recommend and was ideal for our canine friends. Very central to the amenities of the village and offered all the ingredients for a wonderful week.
