Wonderful stone property in a row of attractive traditional terraced cottages in a quiet location with stunning scenery close by, a great choice of eateries in the village, an ideal location to relax.

The cottage forms part of a small group of dwellings nestling on a quiet lane and only a short walk into the village. George Stephenson birthplace is within the village, one of the early railway pioneers, now owned by the National Trust. Take the train to explore further afield where you can visit one of the World’s oldest ticket offices in Wylam. The market town of Hexham and Roman Town of Corbridge are within a short drive. The village is on the north bank of the Tyne River with beautiful riverside walks and cycle routes. A great destination for those who enjoy cycling, walking and adventure. Further afield you can visit Hadrian’s Wall and Alnwick Castle famous for the Harry Potter films.

Enter through the wrought iron gate onto the traditional stone flagged front garden, into the entrance hall with stairs leading to the first floor. The doorway off to your right takes you through to an inviting lounge with a gorgeous wood burner, comfy sofas and chairs to relax and enjoy a film or catch up on your favourite TV show on the TV/DVD. Take the door off the lounge through into the kitchen/diner with its family sized table to enjoy breakfast and a meal together. The kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave and there are patio doors that lead outside. A pine door takes you through to an inner hall with a separate WC, door to the rear courtyard and a twin ground floor bedroom. Heading upstairs, you will find a light and spacious double bedroom with walk-in closet providing ample storage, further along the landing is a twin bedroom and a bathroom which has been traditionally designed with bath, shower and WC.

Heading outside, there is a stone paved enclosed front garden with bench and to the rear of the property there is an enclosed courtyard with seating and just across a private lane is a further garden area for guests to enjoy. There is also a garage to provide secure storage for bicycles and roadside parking for two cars.

Well equipped accommodation, in a pretty village. Good local pubs and walks for the dog. Excellent fruit and veg shop plus 2 (small) supermarkets within close walking distance. Very convenient for exploring the Northumberland coast and Hadrian's wall and visiting Beamish.

We had a wonderful stay at Clara View. A perfect base to explore the area. We visited Hexham, Bamburgh Castle and beach, Durham, Newcastle, Vindolanda and Beamish. The cottage is larger than it looks in the photos and had most of what we needed. We would have appreciated access to a vacuum cleaner, or a dustpan and brush. The double bed was extremeRead morely squeaky on one side which meant two people couldn't sleep in it. Hide

Lovely cottage. Very nicely kept and fabulous location for walking down to the village centre; we ate most nights in the pubs. We also managed to visit the coast each day, our cockapoo had great fun on the many fabulous golden beaches. The whole area was very dog friendly.
