Very friendly, nothing a problem not that we had any. Ideal as a base to explore further afield. Nearest town for shopping is Bala, 5 minutes away. (by car). Bigger town with everything then head for Llangollen 20 minutes away. If you get the chance to look up at night sky and its not raining (it is Wales) the stars are amazing. No light pollution.Read more Go to sleep at night and awake in the morning with the sound of the stream, very therapeutic. Would recommend. Hide

We loved staying in the cottage, set in a beautiful garden which the kids loved and the sound of the flowing river was just lovely. The old watermill was a real bonus. The hosts were very welcoming and we fell very much in love with their dog Maggie. We would very much like to return.

We had a lovely break in February. The cottage was nice and warm and we lit the log burner every night. The owner lives on site and was charming, she was around if you needed her but otherwise left you alone. Llanfor is an ideal location, low level for those days when the clouds descended but near enough to the mountains for a trip out on clear dayRead mores - well worth a drive around Snowdon. There are many places to eat in and around Bala and we found all establishments friendly and welcoming. Hide
