Stone studio bothy with hot tub set in 43 acres, on working sheep farm on the Welsh borders. Idyllic spot to relax, enjoy activities and discover the best countryside and culture in Powys.

One of two adjacent holiday cottages, Tack Bothy is set in a designated Local Wildlife Site by Shropshire Wildlife Trust, with uninterrupted countryside views. Located in Beguildy with pub and shop, close to medieval Clun, the historic market towns Ludlow and Knighton, spa town Llandrindod Wells and Newtown on the banks of the River Severn. Roam the 43 acres of grounds and join Glyndwr’s Way National Trail, Offa’s Dyke or one of the many footpaths and cycle routes to discover the majestic Welsh countryside and rolling Shropshire Hills. The area offers a plethora of activities, eateries, independent shops, museums and galleries. Explore the Observatory Spaceguard Centre, The National Cycle Museum and many National Trust properties to name but a few of the attractions. The cottage is one of two adjacent cottages, that if booked together could provide accommodation for 4 people. The cottages are found at the top of a private drive, where there is no passing people or traffic, just sheep and wildlife. Children and dogs are allowed to roam freely and safely in the acre of fenced in garden. Guests and their dogs are free to wander around the 43 acres of grounds. There are many walks directly from the property, without having to drive anywhere. There is total peace and solitude, with fresh mountain air and pure spring water on tap.

The property has been lovingly refurbished in 2017. This quirky, compact and cosy studio style accommodation is a modestly converted bothy with beautiful exposed beams, unique windows and interesting features. The building is small, at 17 feet x 11 feet, but packs in all that you need for a comfortable stay. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining/sleeping area has a comfortable single day bed with additional single pull out bed and a folding table and chairs which are just perfect for breakfast or a game of cards or watch the TV/DVD on colder evenings enjoy the glow from the wood burner effect electric fire. The creatively designed kitchen area has a small electric hob, microwave/convection oven and fridge with lovely views towards the stream and rolling countryside. The shower room has a shower and WC and dry off with fluffy towels as you plan your day’s activities.

Outside the front door, the private hot tub is waiting for you, alongside the table and chairs and BBQ to enjoy alfresco dining within a fenced garden. Private parking for two cars is available at the property. A shared Pump House has a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a bicycle and canoe store is available. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

My fiance and I, stayed here for the weekend for my bjrthday , an it was just perfect. On arrival caroline was there to meet ans greet us, nothing was to much trouble . She had added her own little touches such as fresh eggs that her chickens had layed that morning, fresh milk , robes, soaps, had everything we needed. Hot tub was amazing nice and cRead morelean. Lovely few days away! Caroline was really welcoming always there if you need anything, but doesn't intrude. Really warm feel to the place, and incredibly dog friendly weve stayed at a few lodges but this was one of the best for sure so we would definitely come again! Abbie & Toby :)

Perfectly private hot tub with breathtaking views, satisfyingly isolated & rural location yet only 15 minutes away from Clun & 25 minutes away from Bishops Castle. A paradise for dog owners, will certainly be visiting again & making it a regular getaway destination !

A great getaway - middle of countryside which is exactly what we wanted! Lush hot tub, great that there is a BBQ, lovely enclosed garden with a stream. A super, clean place to stay. Beautiful views of the countryside, away from the hustle and busle, a bonus of chilled bubbles on arrival and a friendly, personal welcome from the owners. We had a very relaxing stay and would recommend this to others.

Such a beautiful setting, stunning views and very clean. Great place for a relaxing stay and ideal for dogs. Obviously the cottage is very cosy so make sure you're aware of this, but it is perfectly formed and equipped with what you need. Would stay again!

Had a lovely holiday here. Really clean and well stocked, even with fresh eggs and milk. Use of bbq. Caroline was absolutely lovely and couldnt do enough for us. Lovely little place to stay, would highly recommend!

Ive had a truly wonderful weekend at Tack Bothy. Caroline and Jamie couldnt have done anymore to help us. Accommodation was spotless, the location and views are just stunning. The hot tub was a real treat too. Totally doggy friendly and safe. Cant wait to go back next year!

Couldn't possibly ask for more given the price paid. Caroline is amazing! Felt like I had known her years, nothing was too much trouble and was very friendly and helpful. Just WOW! Perfect weekend away. Bothy was stunning with safely fenced yard (separate from the cottage) and the hot tub was amazing. The little stream running past was both lovely to listen to while reading a book but my dog also enjoyed splashing around in the sun. Absolutely stunning little bothy. We had everything we needed, and the views were amazing. Jenny & Dave were around if we needed them, and they made sure we had everything we needed. The description of enclosed garden could be misunderstood; the area fenced off is quite large and includes access to adjacent properties. This was fine for our dogs but other owners may be a little worried if their dogs were wanderers.

This was the perfect stay for me and my partner to escape the city and exchange it for beautiful country side views sipping Prosecco in the hot tub. Nice walks around to explore and of course relaxing in the hot tub. Perfect break for relaxing and away from all the commotion from home! We cant wait to visit again!

We originally scheduled our weekend break for Easter, however due to Covid, it had to be delayed. Finally arriving at Tack Bothy allowed us to relax and put the last few months out of our thoughts. The cottage was adorable, clean and perfectly located for plenty of activities. However I chose to totally relax and this was the perfect place to do not much!! The hot tub was a treat, the owners delightful and the views out of this world.

The bothy is so well set up- the owners have thought of everything and despite its small size (part of its charm) we never felt cramped. The views across the fields are endlessly absorbing. A hidden gem and the hot tub is just the icing on an already excellent cake.

Would definitely go again! It was an amazing view from hot tub and private. If you want somewhere to relax then this place is it! Shops are about a 30 minute drive away. Its a lovely place to walk around and take in the lovely views.

Our first staycation in U.K. and didnt disappoint After reading all the great reviews I thought they might be made up but Jenny and Dave are the best hosts that will go out their way to ensure you get the most out of your stay. Easy to find from Beguildy village, set in a stunning location! The welcome milk and Prosecco in the fridge was much appreciated. Recommend days out in Ludlow and Leominster as well as Knighton, Clun Castle, Bishop's Castle. Remember to pack your camera!!!
