Nestled in a totally secluded hideaway, this sympathetically restored railway carriage has its own very special story and offers you the most peaceful and romantic haven imaginable.

As you follow the path through the grass, this enchanting property can be glimpsed, then through the gate into your own very private meadow, you'll feel as if you have truly left the real world far behind you, time to relax and unwind deep in the Herefordshire countryside. The carriage takes centre stage, with its sturdy steps which are made from reclaimed sleepers that doubles up to make the most superb sun trap balcony. These blend perfectly with the upcycled large wooden Victorian stable doors, now furnished with beautiful hand forged ironmongery which open to reveal the most magical of spaces. The hut is perfectly situated on the England/Wales border making it easy to visit some of the area’s historic towns and villages, including Hay-on-Wye, which is renowned for its affluent bookshops and exquisite restaurants.

Inside, you step back in time to the most romantic ambiance imaginable which allows you to absorb the rustic charm. The traditional log burner takes pride of place and keeps the carriage toasty on cooler evenings, a vintage leather chesterfield sofa is perfect for relaxing with a book or simply let the crackle of the fire lull you into the night as you watch the wildlife out of the large window. The kitchen area is ingeniously made from an old water tank and offers lots of space to rustle up a meal for two or just brew up a morning coffee. A gas hob and just the right amount of pots, pans and utensils are provided for you. At the other end of your carriage a king sized supremely comfortable bed awaits your slumber and you will feel the weight of the world leave your shoulders. A small window at the foot of the bed frames the mountain view you wake up to - no need to draw the curtains here!

There really is no detail missed here, your 'bathroom' is cleverly fashioned from an old grain silo and sits comfortably alongside the carriage offering a very effective wet room style shower and the beautiful glass sink adds a further luxurious touch.

Outside your bespoke and very regal wood fuelled hot tub beckons you to relax yet further. This stunning piece of art has been designed and the ornate sculpting has been hand forged by the owners, taking inspiration from the natural surroundings, its detail is astonishing. Filled with pure spring water, simply heat it up and enjoy. A large fire pit provides a great way to cook up a meal and just in case you need to unwind even more a double hammock is there for you to snooze in whilst the birds sing their songs, just lie back and enjoy this unique experience.

Off grid really is the new luxury.

SLEEPS:  2 - Comfortable double bed with cosy bed linen provided for your stay. Off grid with solar panel for lighting.

RELAXING: Take time to relax on the sofa beside the woodburner. There is a pull out table for dining, and comfortable cushions and throws on the bed and seating area, alongside the clever handmade kitchen. There are baskets of wood provided on arrival and more available using a honesty box system

COOKING & DINING: There is a gas hob, sink and cool box. Pots, pans and crockery all ready for you to be creative. Large fire pit outside with spit perfect for a BBQ

KEEPING CLEAN: Wet room style shower within the converted silo, literally a few steps from the hut also with compost WC. Towels are provided for your stay.

OUTSIDE: The outside space boasts an impressive fire pit and spit. A double hammock makes the most of the beautiful position. There is also off-road parking for 2 cars a short stroll away.

PETS: Due to the surrounding land and livestock we regret no pets at this property.

WELCOME BASKET:  Marshmallows for toasting on the fire pit and fresh free range eggs.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a beautiful rustic rural retreat which must be respected, any damages will be charged to the guest.

HOLIDAY PREPARATION: We would advise to contact local amenities directly, such as shops, restaurants, pubs and attractions, to confirm the latest opening times and availability.

I arrived tired and a bit stressed by work and the "New normal", within 24hrs the outside world no longer existed. The peace and tranquillity in this rustic retreat is truly restorative and demands that you just slow down and enjoy the simple things. A place for wellies, warm coats, wine and stargazing. Although perhaps you wouldn't need the wellieRead mores in the summer, I visited in October so I packed for all eventualities and wasn't disappointed! Hide

Absolutely fantastic stay. Even though it rained constantly this was such a cosy and tranquil place to stay. The little attentions to detail really made this place. Definitely recommend

A fabulous, completely private location away from the stress and strain of daily life, totally tranquil save for the sound of the nature around you. We loved every moment of our stay here, especially cooking over the fire pit. One of the most relaxing breaks we have ever taken.

Tub for Two was just perfect! Very remote and in a beautiful setting. The country roads were scary to begin with but by the second day I got the hang of it! The four nights we spent at Tub for two/forget me not, was possibly the best holiday we have ever had. It was relaxing and so very quiet from civilisation aspect. Animals on the other hand were incredible. Bird watchers paradise. The views around are breathtaking. Anyone would definitely have to watch a sunrise nearby.
