Popular Tansley village is nestled on the edge of the Peak District, next to the market town of Matlock, the perfect base to enjoy tranquillity and to explore the Peak District. Nearby Bakewell, Chatsworth and Matlock Bath are easily accessible by car. There are lovely country walks from the cottage itself and several wonderful pubs within a five minute walk. Matlock has a large variety of shops, supermarkets, a launderette, cafes, restaurants, pubs, indoor swimming pool, weekly market and parks. Matlock Bath is a well-known resort on the river with fish and chips, cable cars and numerous entertainment.

Step along the stepping stone path which leads into the spacious kitchen/diner. There is an electric range style oven and hob, smeg fridge, washing machine and dishwasher which provides you with everything you need for a home away from home stay. There is also a farmhouse kitchen table which is the perfect spot for a lazy breakfast. The large lounge boasts a wood burner, comfortable sofas, TV/DVD, and big glass windows to overlook the fields opposite, ideal for relaxing with a cuppa after a hard day exploring. Leading upstairs to the spacious master bedroom with original beams for character and charm and a super-king-size bed (which can be made into twin on request). The bedroom window overlooks a cattle shed and calves can be seen at certain times of the year, if you are lucky. There is a further twin bedroom (which can be made into king-size upon request). Both bedrooms feature charming stone window seats which bring the outside in. The stylish bathroom has a shower over bath and WC.

To the front of the property is a gravelled area with a garden table and chairs, which lends itself as a great spot for dining alfresco. There is off-road parking for two cars.

What a fantastic property! Everything was ready on arrival and the additional instructions, provided directly by the owners, on how to find the property were really helpful. Little extras, handmade soaps, fresh milk, orange juice and a home baked cake were welcoming and made you feel at home instantly. We had a lovely time a beautiful sponge cake milk and orange juice were waiting for use when we arrived tea coffee sugar jars were full ..we didn't cook but it looked like if we wanted to all equipment was present . The owner was lovely and gave us some tips on places of interest . The cottage was spotless with lovely white bedding and towels . HanRead moredmade soap was left for us ..a lovely touch Hide

As soon as you step through the door of Rolling Mill Cottage a thoughtful homemade cake and delicious farm milk greets you. Clean, comfortable, TV, Wifi, and a very well equipped huge kitchen. Lovely cottage, cosy, clean, and in a great location. The owners Kim and George were fantastic with a freshly baked sponge cake and a pint of their fresh milk waiting for us on arrival. What a warm, cosy beautifully furnished cottage. The farm is lovely and welcoming and the cottage is just perfect for a family of 4 or 2 couples. The under floor heating was amazing. Beautiful,spacious bedrooms with a well equipped kitchen and a very welcoming bottle of Home Farm milk with a yummy home baked cake. Very highly recommended.

Rolling Mill is perfect for families. Our kids absolutely loved being on the farm. The Gate Inn pub is a five minute walk which offers a great play park for the kids and the food is great. Youre never more than 50 mins from anywhere in the peaks and Matlock is quite literally 5 mins drive. The cottage is modern and well equipped. We cooked at the cRead moreottage a few nights to save money. There is a large AGA, Dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer. All you need. I can highly recommend this cottage. Hide

We had a great stay at Rolling Mill Cottage during Easter. The cottage was spacious, clean and comfy with great views. The location was perfect - surrounded by fields and countryside but only a short drive to Matlock and other local attractions/towns. Weather not good but cottage comfortable & warm & we managed to get out each day. Generous hosts, providing tea, coffee, sugar, milk, homemade cake, juice & flowers. Good location for exploring the area. Master bedroom is enormous. Considering it's a working farm, we didn't experience any noise or disturbance whatsoever. View from rear of cottage /Read more garden area is a work in progress as is the adjacent barn. Overall would recommend. No gate at entrance so consider if you have under 5s. Hide

Gorgeous cottage, which is beautifully decorated and furnished. Lovely touches with homemade cake and nice soaps left for you. Quiet location within easy reach of lots of places. Had a brilliant week in this fantastic cottage for October half term with the kids. Was a lovely property, really well kitted out with underfloor heating, wood burner, big Sony Tv, Aga range cooker etc etc. Super nice owners gave us a tour of the dairy farming which was fascinating.
