This thatched period home enjoys splendid gardens and its own swimming pool to enjoy and relax in after spending a day exploring the magical Norfolk Broads and beyond

The charming village of Horning is situated on the banks of the River Bure and is the perfect spot from which to enjoy all the attractions of the Norfolk Broads and beyond. Famous for its miles of pretty waterways the Norfolk Broads and can be explored best by day boat hire and is popular with wildlife lovers, walkers and anglers or simply those who enjoy a day on the water with rivers flowing through beautiful countryside and landscapes. Fun family days elsewhere can be found at various local attractions such as Bewilderwood, Africa Alive, The Dinosaur Adventure Park and National Trust properties as Blickling and Felbrigg. Alternatively, both the North Norfolk coast and Suffolk coast is within easy reach.

Upon entering the hall, guests will find furnishings and decor reflective of the property’s 1930’s period. The lounge accommodates two comfortable sofas and chairs with large bay window overlooking the front garden. There is an open fire and TV/DVD for relaxing in front of your favourite programmes. The dining room has a formal dining table and games for younger guests. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to enjoy a home cooked meal with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer located within a walk-in pantry. Finishing the ground floor accommodation is a utility room with washer/dryer and a separate WC. Ascending the stairs to the first floor there are three bedrooms. The main double bedroom enjoys a balcony, ideal for a morning coffee. The second and third bedrooms are twins. Finishing the accommodation is a bathroom with shower over bath and there is also a separate WC.

The property sits on a large plot with established gardens to both the front and rear, ideal for children and pets to let off steam. There is an outdoor unheated swimming pool which is available from 1st May to 30th September at no extra cost and this is surrounded by a patio area with garden furniture, charcoal BBQ and quaint thatched pool house with children’s inflatables. Ample off-road parking for four cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

From the moment we stepped inside we felt the warmth and cosiness of this characterful house. It was like stepping back in time. We loved it, just our kind of house because so often rented properties have been stripped of all character. Very good value for money.Situated in a lovely village with many attributes.Good,comfortable beds,good-sized rooms and a well-looked after swimming pool.We certainly hope to visit again.

Perfect location, great local pub some people might find the house dated (1930 style) but we loved it. Good sized bedrooms also a huge garden for the dog to explore.

A beautiful house in a stunning location. Certainly could do with updating but didn't stop us having an amazing time. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very warm and cosy for much a large property.
