Betws-y-Coed is full of outdoor activities and craft shops, galleries and pubs alongside the historic bridges, river pools, waterfalls and hill top lakes. Enjoy walking, climbing, sailing, kayaking and fishing in spectacular scenery. Visit historic towns Ruthin and Denbigh, have a day trip to the beach at Barmouth or take the challenges of GYG Karting, Snowdonia’s Cader Idris, the Zip World Caverns and Surf Snowdonia.

This former dairy oozes character with beamed ceilings, cosy wood burner, a myriad of stylishly furnished rooms, interesting artworks around every corner and stunning rural views. The impressive entrance hall has oodles of space to hang your coats and leave your boots with the first lovely twin bedroom to your left. Walking back through the hall you will find the large bathroom with a walk in shower, free-standing bath and WC. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is bright and spacious with French doors opening on to the patio area with wonderful views over the grounds towards the mountain range. Relax on the comfy leather sofas, plan your holiday adventures or maybe light the ready-laid-wood burner and watch TV or a DVD. If you decide to eat in the well-equipped kitchen area, with breakfast bar, has all you need to prepare a meal with the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, alongside all the thoughtful little extras creating a lovely space to cook in. There is plenty of room for everyone to come together and enjoy a meal or maybe a game of cards. Wander through to the library stairwell, settle down with a good book or listen to the radio. There is another bedroom off here with double bed, ample floor space and a superb en-suite wet room with shower and WC. Ideal for those with less mobility. Meander up the stairs to the next bedroom, with luxurious double bed, TV and en-suite WC. All the bedrooms all have dressing gowns and towels.

Up the private drive, past the owners home the property nestles on the gravelled courtyard with superb countryside views. Enjoy alfresco dining on the patio area with table, chairs, charcoal BBQ and lovely views over the standing stones and beyond. There are also a number of shared places to sit and relax in the nine acres of grounds, maybe picnic on the lawn or by the standing stones or head to the shade of the trees. If you are bringing your bike there is a lockable store and outside tap with hose available. Plenty of outside space for your canoe or kayak's. The shared, spacious, vaulted ceiling games barn is also accessible from the courtyard and offers a wide range of fun activities to enjoy, including Free View TV with large wall projection, Nintendo Wii, darts, table tennis, slate bed pool table and high quality hi-fi system. Please note that the shared games room may  not be accessible due to social distancing measures. Ample private parking on site, within walking distance of the property. 

The owners are in the process of wilding seven acres of the property to make a small sanctuary  for wildlife. With the creation of a large natural lake, new copses and wildflower meadows. Whilst it establishes, the lake is visible to guest but not accessible, but a wander through the wildflower meadow on a summer's evening is a real nature lovers treat.

Due to the current situation with Covid-19 the games room advertised at this property will be closed. This is subject to change/extension due to any further government guidance.

We had a fabuolous holiday in Red Kite Cottage owned my Gail and Jerry. The cottage was immaculate, furnished and equipped to a very high standard, it had everything you could need for a wonderful holiday. Set in a beautiful area of Norh Wales with amazing views. Peaceful and claming away from this busy world. So much to see and do.Walking, hiking,Read more watersports on Lake Bala and so many sites to visit! Gail and Jerry were the perfect hosts too! Hide

Brilliant 4 day break. The property was perfect for 6 people. The games room ideal for entertainment on a rainy evening. The owners were exceptionally hospitable and so helpful when our car battery died. Cant recommend enough.

The cottage was perfect for our holiday, its location was ideal as we could visit Snowdon, Portmeirion etc with no long journeys. The playroom was great and wonderfully decorated. The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean. Had a lovely welcome pack, which as it was near Halloween included a pumpkin which my daughters were very happy wRead moreith. Family holiday of three generations. We were able to request a shower stool and toilet frame for the ground floor wet room which is then perfect for guests with mobility needs. A clean comfortable cottage, furnished and decorated to a high standard. Lovely views of Welsh hills, perfect for a peaceful holiday.

The cottage was to a very high standard and beautifully decorated. I ended up on crutches and so was overjoyed that we'd actually booked a house with disabled facilities which made everything easier. Beautiful area, plus a wonderful games room for us all to enjoy as a family. Thank you.

We were made to feel very welcome by people passionate about what they provide for their guests. A delightful place for those interested in a safe and peaceful holiday within close proximity to the many amenities that snowdonia has to offer. From surfing to walking it's all on your doorstep. We had a fun packed week.

It was a lovely place but wasn't happy with all does and don't we paid 586 for 2nights first night didn't get there till 11ish and couldn't see a thing as the lights go out at 10 plus you can't park out side so walking back is so dark.we also got told there's a pool table turned up can't play in there after 9pm .also need something to tell people tRead moreo watch there heads as my brother knocked him self out as he walked in as he's 6ft5 I wouldn't be going back there. So lucky to find this wonderful cottage - ideal for our family comprising of 10 year old twins and 2 dogs. Gail showed us around the property, and we immediately felt at home. Lovely comfortable beds, log burner and great kitchen facilities. The views from the house were fabulous and so many wonderful walks only a short drive away.
