This quintessential Cotswold dormer cottage nestles into a hillside and enjoys panoramic views across the sweeping hills and valleys of the North Cotswolds. The renowned Longborough Festival Opera is situated virtually underneath the stepped terrace of the bottom of the garden. Just a stones' throw away are Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold, with Lower Slaughter, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford all close by. Further afield are the historic towns of Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birth place, and Cheltenham, home to the literature and food festival and Horse racing. More local attractions include Chastleton House and Gardens, Hidcote Manor, Daylesford Organic farm shop and Batsford Arboretum.

Take in the charm of this traditional Cotswold stone cottage, renovated with a contemporary twist on the traditional. The entrance being the perfect place to leave your walking boots behind you as you step into the cosy lounge where the warming wood burner will entice you to sit back and relax amongst the tasteful soft furnishings that blend simply with the rustic charm. A particularly seductive feature is that the ground floor is split-level, with a stunning sight-line created via steps leading up from the lounge to the dining room which is just perfect for a supper for two if you choose to stay in,(also located in this room is a fridge, freezer and washing machine). The small kitchen is bespoke in style and equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave. And when the day is done climb the stairs to the double bedroom fit for a king – the vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and exposed filament Edison style lights are the perfect back drop for a super relaxed nights sleep. The luxurious bathroom with rainfall shower over bath is located off the bedroom.

Head into the enclosed garden from pretty sleeper steps up from the lounge -the natural garden has a wild bohemian feel to it and is a perfect sun trap to while away the afternoon with a good book, or perhaps light the barbecue and cook for friends. And on summer evenings sit back and listen to wafts of the Longborough Festival Opera that is just across the way. Follow the winding pathway with wonderful views that leads down to a gate within a high wall and the village beyond. This takes you down to the village shop, the archetypal Cotswold village green with its pub and church. There is also off road parking for two cars.

The cottage was beautiful and cosy. We were welcomed with a chocolate cake and bottle of fizz. We booked this cottage as a relaxing hideaway for our honeymoon and found it to be perfect. The open fire is definitely the highlight of this beautifully cosy cottage.

Had a great time at this quaint cottage. Loved the nooks and crannies, and the great use of the space. Very cosy and excellent fireplace. Loved the little touches of Prosecco and chocolate cake. Longborough village was lovely; very friendly at the village shop and The Coach and Horses pub. Did a nice, muddy walk to Moreton on Marsh to visit the ChrRead moreistmas markets. Also drove to Broadway Tower and walked down the hill to Broadway. Beautiful countryside getaway. Highly recommended! Hide
