Delightfully charming 14th century property located within a small complex of similar properties, sharing spacious grounds on the outskirts of the village of Goodrich in the picturesque Wye Valley.

This property enjoys a lovely countryside location in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, within walking distance of the village of Goodrich and its striking Norman castle, which is maintained by English Heritage. There is plenty to see and do in the area, including the Symonds Yat West Leisure Park, the Forest of Dean, and the romantic ruins of Wilton Castle. For those who like to explore local towns whilst on holiday, Ross-on-Wye, Hereford, and Gloucester are all within easy driving distance.

This three-storey property has many attractive original features which makes it an interesting and unusual place to stay. On entering the property, guests are met with the hallway, off from which they will find the master bedroom with its double bed and beamed ceiling. The bathroom is also located on the ground floor and offers a wet room with walk in shower and WC. Taking the stairs to the first-floor accommodation, guests will find the inviting lounge, an attractive room with exposed stone walls, a comfy corner sofa, and a TV/DVD. The kitchen/diner meanwhile is equipped with a dining table, electric oven, hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. Guests who need to do washing during their stay can use the handy on-site laundry room which is available to all guests. Another set of stairs leads to the mezzanine floor, where a single bedroom overlooks the living space below and also offers views to Goodrich Castle through the skylight window.

Outside, there are spacious shared gardens which are mainly set to lawn, where guests can relax and perhaps enjoy a picnic using the garden furniture provided. Off-road parking is provided for three cars

Great location near Symonds Yat and nice village of Goodrich, character apartments in an old priory. Good value for money, reasonably comfortable and good basic equipment - second bedroom is open plan in the eaves.

Unique property in a great location for exploring Wye Valley area. Our son loved the top of the castle room. All equipment we needed to cook was provided and pub across the river pretty decent for dinner (need torches!) Highly recommend Goodrich Castle and a walk along the river to Symonds Yat.

Best avoided if you want a relaxing break. The apartments aren't sound-proofed so you get to hear everything happening next door including conversations and what TV programme your neighbours are watching. Be aware that if you have a dog you need to take it out of your front door, then out of the main door and about 50 yards down the drive to get awRead moreay from the "no fouling" signs. And that some of your neighbours will be fishermen who regard communal areas as fair game to dry out their nets. Hide

It was an ideal location for us & our dog, lovely surroundings with 2 local pubs that took dogs & provided great food including breakfast at one of them.
