Single-storey barn conversion property located in the stunning countryside close to the Welsh border, within easy reach of Offa’s Dyke, The Wye Valley, Ludlow, and Hay-on-Wye.

This charming property is situated next to the owner’s home in the attractive surroundings of the Welsh Marches. The town of Presteigne is just two miles away and offers a range of convenient shops, a weekly farmers’ market, and several well-regarded pubs. The position of the property means that is ideally located for exploring Ludlow and Hay-on-Wye, both of which offer a fantastic experience, a far-cry from the blandness of the usual high street. Hay-on-Wye is renowned for its literary connections and is home to a large number of book shops, whilst Ludlow, famed for its food festival, offers a wide range of eateries, many of which specialise in local produce.

On entering this property, guests will be able to hang their coats in the convenient cloakroom before making themselves at home in the spacious lounge/kitchen/diner. There is a lovely homely feel to this room which means that guests easily feel relaxed and at ease here. The lounge area has inviting sofas, a cosy wood burner, and a TV and books for your entertainment. There is also a piano here, but guests wishing to use this should mention it on booking. The kitchen area, to the opposite end of the room, has been finished in a lovely farmhouse style and offers an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. The conservatory is a lovely sunny space with plenty of comfortable seating, which makes it a pleasant place to sit with a book and a cup of tea. The property has three bedrooms, all of which enjoy views over the garden. The first of these is a king-size room, with the other two being a double and a twin. The main bathroom is located close to the bedrooms offering a shower-over-bath and WC, whilst there is also a shower room with WC located near to the front door.

Outside, there is a spacious courtyard with garden furniture, which makes a pleasant spot from which to enjoy the tranquil surroundings. There is off-road parking provided.

Very spacious, plenty of room for two couples and young child. On the whole very comfortable. Sofas in need of attention. Well equipped. Location ideal for peace and quiet and travel to places of interest in the area.

This is a very spacious property which is quiet and only a mile and a half at most from Presteigne (ten minutes on my bike.) The kitchen is especially well equipped with everything you could wish for and ample supplies of plates, mugs and the necessary kitchen equipment. The conservatory is a lovely place for sitting in and reading....the absence oRead moref stairs makes is a suitable property also for people who might struggle with access. Really excellent place. The large open plan living room and kitchen with the added conservatory gave plenty of space for everyone. The cottage is well equipped and the two bath / shower rooms, as well as wash hand-basins in two of the bedrooms, make it easy for 6 to share. Lovely countryside and interesting places to visit nearby.

Long Barn Cottage is a fabulous place to stay. My wife and I and my 2 sisters had a lovely 6 night stay. The cottage is handily placed for day trips to any of the Welsh border locations, in particular Ludlow, Builth Wells and Montgomery as well as many others. We especially loved the conservatory. The shower room and toilet can be accessed with no Read moresteps up or down . Both the property manager and the owner made us feel welcome in what really is a nice 2nd home on The Rodd property.
