The jacuzzi was such a treat and the little balcony area with a view over a garden and out towards the Sugar Loaf Mountain was incredible. We felt so lucky to have found such a gem of a place to stay, especially as its so dog friendly .We didnt have time to do much exploring as the weather was so incredibly warm for March and we were on holiday to chill out. Whod want to travel far when you have an amazing view the sun is shining and so many gardens to sit in? The dog paddock was wonderful with all the primroses out and we made friends with Boswell and made a fuss of the dear ponies. The cottage is so close to the Canal towpath and we never tired of walking along it in both directions and discovering its history. We went to Clydach which was interesting and Clydach Gorge is beautiful. Abergavenny is only a few miles away and is lovely little market town with a traditional market and supermarkets. Gilwern has little food shops, places to eat and everyone was so friendly. We highly recommend Little Orchard Retreat and weve already booked two weeks next year as we enjoyed our stay so much. Hide
