This pretty property nestles at the top of a gently sloping field overlooking an idyllic lake with ducks and geese and provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Outdoor enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with the coast, Dartmoor and Exmoor within an hour’s drive. The immediate area offers an array of amenities and attractions, the nearby village of Kennerleigh has a community store stocking local meat, free range eggs and cider alongside your essentials. The historic market town of Crediton is a short drive and home to a lively farmers market, shops and pubs. Slightly further afield is Tiverton castle, museum and canal country park. Located in the heart of mid-Devon you will be perfectly placed for exploring the whole of this popular county. Other attractions and places of interest in the area include Escot, Bickleigh Mill and National Trust properties such as Knightshayes and Castle Drogo.

Entering this adorable property you will immediately find yourself in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining/sleeping area. In the sleeping area you will find a double bed. In the dining area there is a breakfast bar and chairs perfect for enjoying breakfast and your morning coffee before heading out for a day exploring the area. After a busy day out and about relax in front of the TV and wood burner and plan the following days adventures. The compact kitchen area is equipped with an electric mini oven with two ring hob and a fridge with ice compartment. For your comfort there is an en-suite shower and WC providing a comfortable stay in this beautiful rustic environment.

The shepherds hut was beautiful, warm and fully equipped. An ideal place for a romantic getaway. The owner is welcoming and the dogs and ducks were friendly. Loved sitting in the hot tub looking at the view. All in all a great place to stay.

An excellent place - 5 stars The owner gave us such a warm welcome and made us feel at home The shepherds hut was immaculate! Hot tub clean and hot on arrival. The ducks greeted us every day and the stay was simply wonerful. Will definitely return and recommend.

Wow what can I say please do not hesitate to book the Shepherds Hut it was spectacular. We went away for a chill and that is definitely what we got in bucket loads . Mandy was lovely and she had even made some Scones which were delicious. The ducks were a joy and became a massive part of our break feeling excited to wake up to see them. Shepherds joy was very nice accommodation to stay in. finished to a very good standard inside and out with everything you will need for a short break. The surrounding area is very quiet and relaxing with a very friendly dog and a flock of ducks on the farm. Mrs Perryman was very welcoming, friendly and lovely to talk with.
