We had a wonderful week at Ferneyhowe last week. Warm and cosy, two log burners, plenty of room to get clothes dry. Usually there are essential things missing when you rent a holiday home - not here! Every home comfort has been thought of.

We enjoyed our week at Ferneyhowe Croft, one week was not enough time to explore, it was our second visit to Cairngorms and no doubt not our last. The Lonach Gathering was a joy, fishmonger & restaurant in Ballater excellent as was our return visit to a refurbished Kildrummy Inn. The house was warm welcoming and well equipped and the outside area gRead morereat for children and adults playtime! Our hosts were charming and available when needed but not intrusive. Hide

Absolutely gorgeous little croft cottage in the most stunning location. We have a fabulous week walking in the surrounding area and enjoyed returning to the cottage to relax in the garden/sunroom. One point of note is that the cottages water can be discoloured (due to peat). It is UV treated so safe but we bought/boiled water just in case. Wasn't aRead moren issue for us and I certainly wouldn't let it put anyone off going to this lovely cottage. Highly recommended. Hide

The silence is golden. The most wonderful setting away from any noise. Wild life is all around you. We were visited by a red squirrel, various birds of pray and had a Hare in the garden for a good 30 minutes. The conservatory is a lovely place to lookout for wildlife, in coming weather and the stars on a clear night. Everything in the house was gooRead mored very well equipped and log burner if needed.
