This charming stylish detached lodge with private hot tub and magnificent countryside views. Perfect for those seeking a relaxing country retreat, but within easy reach of all local amenities.

Situated just outside of the historical town of Kelso, Barn Owl Lodge Pastures and her sister property Kestrel Lodge Pastures offer the best of both worlds whether it is total relaxation you are seeking amidst the beautiful scenery or an active walking/cycling holiday!  It is a great place to escape for a romantic getaway or to explore the Scottish Borders and Northumbria Coast.  With forest trails right from your door in the nearby Bowmont Forest or walking up Pennine Way and St Cuthbert's Way.  Just a few miles away the Cheviot Hills are a fabulous place to walk and explore.  If it is history you are looking for there is plenty of historical sights in the many of the local towns and villages.  For cyclists there are numerous trails again from the door with lock up facilities on site for bikes and all weather gear.  Whether it is a short break or a longer stay you are looking for there is a lot to offer in the local area.  For little ones and for the family dog there is an expanse of open countryside to explore and the private enclosed grounds are a safe haven for them to enjoy.  Golfers can play at the beautiful Roxburghe, Kelso and Coldstream courses and for equestrian lovers there are the famous 'ride-outs' in the area too.  There is an ice rink in Kelso and 'Born in the Borders' is a short drive away and a great day out for all the family it offers a brewery, distillery and grass sledging!

Enter the charming single storey lodge from the pretty front garden, through to the light and bright open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has lovely comfortable leather sofas and TV/DVD. The dining area with large dining table, ideal for romantic or family gatherings enjoys wonderful views over the garden and the surrounding beautiful countryside. The stylish well-equipped compact kitchen area has an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment and microwave, perfect for those wishing to stay in and cook up a storm. Next door you will find the shower room with plenty of storage space with shower and WC. Continuing through from the lounge you are met with the spacious king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin on request), followed by the cosy twin zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a king-size on request).

Venturing outside you will find the splendid, private, hot tub, benefiting from wonderful countryside and rolling hill views. Perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the local area. There is a seating area directly in front of the lodge which is ideal for al fresco dining or to enjoy your morning coffee. Attached to the side of the lodge is the handy utility room with electric heated clothes horse and storage space for outdoor clothing. There is ample off-road parking available.  Please note the grounds and parking area of this property is covered by CCTV.

  • Due to the continental design of these lodges, the door heights are lower than normal, and the openings have slightly raised thresholds. These can present a trip hazard especially for people with mobility problems. Please take care when entering or leaving the rooms.

  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Great spot for a few days away, rural but very close to the town of Kelso, very peaceful and great parking. Loved the hot tub and watching the sunset and stars. Kitchen amenities were good, cooker, hob, toaster, microwave etc. We had it lucky and had the whole place to ourselves (no one next to us) . The 2 leather 2 seated couches were perfect to fRead morelake out on after a day of visiting the towns of the borders and the bed was also comfy too. A well deserved break was had. Hide

A stunning lodge in the perfect location! We enjoyed a cosy time away in this idyllic lodge, harbouring stunning views, cosy beds and a hot tub to top it all off! Great for staying local or adventuring out to the Northumberland Coast, so we had plenty to do to fill the time. Lovely cosy well equipped cottage. Very relaxing for me, my wife and our 2 x dogs. Plus our own hot tub made for relaxing evenings.The owners could not do enough for us. Im sure we will be back in the future.

Absolutely fantastic. We loved the cottage, the peacefulness, the views, everything we needed to relax and enjoy the time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My only disappointment is of not booking to be there for longer.

A lovely clean comfortable lodge with stunning views.Its a beautiful location, quiet and really lovely and private for the hot tub. Good to have only 2 lodges on the site and also dog friendly with big enclosed site.

Had a lovely week at Barn Owl Pastures. If your looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you. Owners Mhari and Rich couldn't be nicer or more helpful. Kelso is lovely with great river walks or nearby Forrest walks were great for the dogs. Hot Tub was wonderful overlooking open views enjoyed our week very much and will come back.

We have just returned from a weeks stay in Barn Owl Lodge and would not hesitate recommending it, we will be returning. The lodge was well equipped and with beautiful views the hot tub it is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring. Beautiful lodge which was very well equipped with absolutely everything you would need. Owners very friendly, helpful and approachable. Excellent location, short drive to amenities and brilliant, relaxing view from the hot tub.
