This stylish Edwardian villa is set in a quiet spot minutes from the centre of Gillingham, Dorset’s most northerly town. Bordering both Wiltshire and Somerset and with direct rail links from London, this popular town offers something for everyone, with a good selection of pubs, cafes and shops close at hand along with a leisure centre with swimming pool nearby. Spend an afternoon browsing around town or take a trip to nearby Shaftesbury, home to the famous Gold Hill. Set within rolling pastureland known as the Blackmore Vale, there are an abundance of routes suitable for walking and riding winding through this picturesque landscape. With plenty of attractions to keep you entertained including Stourhead House and Gardens, Salisbury Cathedral, The Longleat Estate, Stonehenge and Haynes Motor Museum within easy reach. Heading from the sloping parking area at the front of the semi-detached property you will find the main entrance. Entering into the spacious hallway leads firstly into a cosy lounge with TV/DVD, enjoy the warmth of the wood burner whilst looking out onto to the leafy street beyond. Leading on from here is a bright and airy dining room, which is the ideal spot for enjoying a leisurely meal. The kitchen also leads off of the central hallway and is well-equipped with a range style electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Next to here is a useful utility area with WC, washing machine and tumble dryer. Heading up to the first floor you will find a stunning bathroom with inviting slipper bath, perfect for a long soak and WC. There are three bedrooms, a spacious double with bay window, a compact double and an cosy single room with day bed. Decorated with care in period colours, this inviting property is sure to relax.

Great base for exploring, comfy beds, off road parking, shops nearby, retractable stair gates, secure garden for dogs. Garden was smaller than appeared in the photos. Cold and wet our week and we couldnt get the heating to come on following the instructions. It started coming on automatically later in the week. A lovely holiday property. Really well equipped and comfortable for families. Set up well for dogs with stair gates, dog towels, bowl and biscuits. For the adults there was a bottle of wine and a very useful guide with operating instructions for the kitchen appliances and a good selection of local walks. Its a lovely cottage back garden was really nice to sit in in the evening as weather was so hot when we were there. Cottage is very well supplied with everything you could want. Unfortunately we wont book again due to reasons that had nothing to do with our holiday. Many thanks again to Mr and Mrs Harvey.

A very lovely house to stay in. Local shops about 10 min away walking And the walks around by the house was certainly good exercise for the dogs. I would recommend this house to anyone interested in staying.

Very clean and comfort house. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a great shower. Walks within easy reach from the property. The owners left a comprehensive list of walks. Extremely dog friendly and the biscuits for the dogs and wine for the humans was a lovely touch.

We had a wonderful rest which is just what we needed. The garden was a perfect size for us The holiday home was very comfortable and very dog welcoming which means a lot to us. Location was great for site seeing places wed never been to before. Weve been travelling to south Dorset for years so it was a nice change. Just on the borders of Somerset aRead morend Wiltshire so other new places to visit. Gillingham itself was nice albeit not a lot there. As I said previously it was a good base. Thanks Hide

Loved this house.Plenty of space to do separate things if want to. Super to have a back door into utility area to take off boots & clean muddy dog! Near to supermarkets to get provisions.

Lovely property with good beds, log fire, decent size kitchen and dining room. Ample parking and easy walk to town. Dog friendly with an enclosed rear garden and Stair Gate to stop night time wandering! Shaftesbury is close by and worth seeing for nice views over the valley and walk up 'Hovis Hill' Went to West Bay at Bridport for sunshine at the bRead moreeach and a hot pasty, 45 miles away but seems to take a long time to get there! Beautiful, spacious and comfortable house. Nice enclosed garden, safe for dogs. Great local walks as well as being a good location from which to explore further afield. Quiet and rural while also being close to amenities. An enjoyable walk into the town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend booking. We spent a day in ShafteRead moresbury and visited Duncliffe Woods and Fifehead Woods. Also, everyone we met was lovely and friendly. We hope to return next year. Hide

2 Bay View is a great holiday home and perfect for exploring the West Country. Really dog friendly, secure garden and extremely well appointed with every convenience necessary for a relaxing break away with 2 and 4 legged family.

We had a lovely week away in Bay Villa. Location is great for exploring the local area & further afield too & we had a fantastic time. The garden was amazing for the dogs but the neighbour on our first day there asked us to keep them quiet which really did spoil our time at the property as we were constantly worried anytime we let them out. They arRead moree dogs & they bark but it was not excessive & we fetched them inside every time. It might be something to consider if you have dogs as it upset us. Hide

This was one of the best holiday homes we have ever stayed in. It was beautifully decorated and yet had a very welcoming atmosphere. The house is spacious, with everything you need for your stay - and a great garden, which was a bonus. The bottle of wine was a lovely gesture.

Great cottage had everything we needed and was really well maintained and layed out. Was a great central location for places to visit. Co-op down the road was handy and was easy to walk to Gillingham town centre for more shops. Lovely cottage and area.
