Set within a small hamlet at the foot of the Black Mountains within the National Park, this traditional coach house is just perfect for family and friends to get together whatever the time of year.

The small hamlet of Trewyn just a mile from Pandy sits at the foot of the Black Mountains, offering an idyllic location that you will struggle to leave, this peaceful hamlet is well served by the local villages, with a village inn in Pandy and a well-stocked village store in Longtown. For walkers why not explore the Black Mountains and join the Offa’s Dyke pathway which will take you deeper into the countryside. Ideal for touring with the market town of Abergavenny with a regular farmers market and food festival, Crickhowell nestled within the Usk Valley and Hay-on-Wye with an eclectic range of book shops that all celebrate the book festivals throughout the year.

Open the solid wooden gates onto the cobbled courtyard and take a moment to take in beauty of the building. The large open hallway is inviting with a bench for you to sit and leave your boots behind, the handcrafted oak staircase takes centre stage, with an opening that leads you into the lounge, beautifully furnished with classic sofas, colourful cushions and woollen rugs covering the flagstone floors. Further complimented by the large glazed doors opening onto the courtyard and open fire set ready to light when enjoying a favourite movie on the TV/DVD. For entertaining step off the hallway into the kitchen/diner, set to the rear of the house with a well-equipped kitchen enjoying views onto the naturally landscaped grounds, take advantage of the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A breakfast bar divides the room with an area for dining, with a table that will comfortably seat eight guests. There is access to the garden along with a ground floor WC. So, when the day is done, climb the solid oak staircase where you will find three bedrooms. A double with ornate four poster bed enjoying views onto the gardens and an en-suite shower room with rainfall shower and WC. A double with views onto the courtyard and a triple room with handcrafted built-in cabin beds, the room is made up of 2 lower level 4' wide beds and one single top bunk. We would advise the top bunk to the right as you enter the room is not suitable for children as there is no bed guard and what looks like a fourth bed in this room is only 4ft long and again not suitable for adults or small children to sleep in and has no bed guard. There is a bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC on this floor.

The gardens surround the rear of the property, they are naturally landscaped and great to explore with babbling brooks and hidden benches along the way, there is a terrace set to the side where you can sit and soak in the wood fired hot tub. And for al fresco dining enjoy the gated courtyard where you have a BBQ area, firepit, table and chairs ready to dine. There is parking for three cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 four poster double, 1 double and 1 triple (we would advise the top bunk to the right as you enter the room is not suitable for children as there is no bed guard and what looks like a fourth bed in this room is only 4ft long and again not suitable for adults or small children to sleep in and has no bed guard).
  • 1 bathroom, 1 en-suite shower and 1 separate WC
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine
  • Open fire - logs included
  • Electric and underfloor heating included

Valentine and Doug are incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the house is beautiful, full of character, and extremely well-equipped for any group! The outside area is fabulous for even the most adventurous pups (our curious Labrador often finds her way out of supposedly enclosed gardens, but she was so safe in this one!) Beautiful cottage, well equipped and well furnished. Fantastic location. Steep drop to parts of the stream. The courtyard is wonderful and we loved our stay here.

Amazing place to stay couldnt say anything less than 100% - Valentine the owner was lovely and neighbours also very friendly - will be back again !

Gorgeous house with comfortable beds and great pillows. Very well equipped kitchen and the tub tub is unique and fun (though takes hours to warm up). The stream and outdoor space at the back of the house is nice and relaxing and the patio space with the fire pit at the front was excellent.

Absolutely lovely location - you really need a car to visit places and it is a fair walk to nearest pub but that wasn't an issue for us. The bedroom has a wonderful view and to wake up to just the noise of a stream and birds is wonderful.

We had such a lovely time at the coach house. It is really comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. Perfect for families. We will be back as soon as we can.

A beautiful coach house, in a lovely location. Great for cycling and walking. The house was incredibly well equipped, it was like home from home. We were made to feel very welcome, and the cake, eggs and milk were a lovely touch. Lots of helpful information available, and great communication from the owner. The Coach House oozed good taste and attention to detail. All the fixtures and fittings were of the highest quality. The owners had not skimped whereas others, for a 'rental' property, may have chosen cheaper options. All the equipment we needed was there and again demonstrated good taste and quality. We would definitely recommend this pretty to frRead moreiends. Hide
