Property code: BX014

Situated close to the town centre of Brixham, on the picturesque English Riviera, this property makes a great place to enjoy a break in this popular part of South Devon. Sitting on the westerly side of Torbay, Brixham is principally a harbour town, with a traditional fishing industry still flourishing today. Visitors can join one of the numerous fishing trips from the harbour, or perhaps an enjoyable pleasure boat tour of the bay. There are several beaches within easy reach of the town centre, including the town’s main Breakwater Beach, Shoalstone Beach with its tidal pool, and the secluded beach at St Mary’s Bay. There is also a good range of shops in the town, as well as a number of well-regarded eateries, many of which specialise in the local seafood.

Up steps from the road level leads guest to the front door of this pretty cottage. The property has been arranged in reverse-level style so as to make best of the magnificent views, meaning that guests first come to the bedrooms on the property’s ground floor. Two of the property’s three bedrooms are here, the first of which is a twin room with fantastic harbour views, and the second being a bunk bedroom. The main bathroom located on this floor offers the best of both worlds, with a bath, separate shower cubicle, and WC. Stairs lead from the entrance hall up to the first floor, where the lounge, kitchen, and dining room are located. The cottage’s former life as a Seafarer’s cottage is much in evidence here, as one can well imagine how easy it was to check on the comings and goings in the harbour from the windows in the lounge. If guests can draw themselves away from the spectacular views, they may like to relax in front of the TV and DVD, or perhaps cosy up in front of the flame-effect gas fire. The dining room has a second TV, so there is no need for anyone to miss a favourite programme. The kitchen is well-equipped with a built-in electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher, and washing machine, and has doors which open out onto a patio area. Steep cottage-style stairs lead to the second floor and the master bedroom suite, with its double bed, en-suite (which has a wash basin & WC), and of course, more of those magnificent views.

Outside, the property benefits from a steep terraced garden with a patio area from which steps lead up to a garden room and additional decked seating area. Bikes can safely be stored here. A further set of steep steps leads to the private off-road parking space.

Stunning view above the harbour. Very lovely place to expirience british cosiness in a pretty, little cottage. Sunsets are spectacular and eaay access to the city and surroundings like Greenway parks or Torquay. Best issue for drivers: very good parking at the house!

Superb location overlooking Brixham harbour, short but steep 5 minute wonder down the steps into town. Cottage was big enough for our family of six, two adults and four teenagers, although an extra shower would've been handy. Off street parking and all the facilities you would require. Excellent

We had a great stay in Brixham, lots to do and see. The steps everywhere are quite a challenge so be warned. The cottage could do with a little tlc but adequate for the stay.

Well placed, lovely views across the harbour. Outdoor space is a bonus, catching the afternoon/evening sunshine. Good sized parking space. Property has steep narrow stairs and access to main town involved steep steps. Not a problem for us but bear in mind if you have mobility challenges.

A very well positioned cottage overlooking the harbour in Brixham with incredible views from all rooms with the benefit of parking. The cottage was lovely and the views stunning. Very comfortable, warm and cosy. However, although I expected steep steps and had no issue when booking, once at the property, the back metal steps were dangerous in the rain. I slipped but no injury sustained. The stairs leading to the attic room were also steep but because of their construction, theyRead more were very narrow I felt quite nervous going down them. Hide

I don't want to leave! One of the nicest places we have stayed in. Absolutely incredible views. Very well equipped home. Fantastic having parking. Lovely area in the garden to eat with a view of the harbour. I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely home.

Fantastic views. Steep steps throughout property and to get to and from harbour as others have remarked upon. Not a problem for us. Good to have a parking space and rear access - meant we could organise a grocery delivery. Downstairs (2 bedrooms and bathroom) smells quite musty - but it is an old property. Some housekeeping issues.
