Situated close to the town centre of Brixham, on the picturesque English Riviera, this property makes a great place to enjoy a break in this popular part of South Devon. Sitting on the westerly side of Torbay, Brixham is principally a harbour town, with a traditional fishing industry still flourishing today. Visitors can join one of the numerous fishing trips from the harbour, or perhaps an enjoyable pleasure boat tour of the bay. There are several beaches within easy reach of the town centre, including the town’s main Breakwater Beach, Shoalstone Beach with its tidal pool, and the secluded beach at St Mary’s Bay. There is also a good range of shops in the town, as well as a number of well-regarded eateries, many of which specialise in the local seafood.
Up steps from the road level leads guest to the front door of this pretty cottage. The property has been arranged in reverse-level style so as to make best of the magnificent views, meaning that guests first come to the bedrooms on the property’s ground floor. Two of the property’s three bedrooms are here, the first of which is a twin room with fantastic harbour views, and the second being a bunk bedroom. The main bathroom located on this floor offers the best of both worlds, with a bath, separate shower cubicle, and WC. Stairs lead from the entrance hall up to the first floor, where the lounge, kitchen, and dining room are located. The cottage’s former life as a Seafarer’s cottage is much in evidence here, as one can well imagine how easy it was to check on the comings and goings in the harbour from the windows in the lounge. If guests can draw themselves away from the spectacular views, they may like to relax in front of the TV and DVD, or perhaps cosy up in front of the flame-effect gas fire. The dining room has a second TV, so there is no need for anyone to miss a favourite programme. The kitchen is well-equipped with a built-in electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher, and washing machine, and has doors which open out onto a patio area. Steep cottage-style stairs lead to the second floor and the master bedroom suite, with its double bed, en-suite (which has a wash basin & WC), and of course, more of those magnificent views.
Outside, the property benefits from a steep terraced garden with a patio area from which steps lead up to a garden room and additional decked seating area. Bikes can safely be stored here. A further set of steep steps leads to the private off-road parking space.
Please note this property is set across three floors with steep steps both internally and externally and may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues
