Beautifully maintained and presented property, offering a home-from-home in the harbour-side town of Brixham in South Devon, with the town centre, harbour, and beaches all within walking distance.

This property is located close to Brixham town centre, just a short walk from the town’s famous harbour, where fishing boats and pleasure crafts rub shoulders and offer visitors the chance to take to the waters. Furzeham Green and Battery Gardens are perfectly located for dog walking or enjoying the breathtaking views across Torbay. There are several beaches within easy reach of the town centre, including the town’s main beach with its impressive 0.5-mile breakwater allowing visitors to walk out to sea and gain a unique perspective of the town and the harbour. For a quieter experience, the beaches at St Mary’s Bay and Fishcombe Cove are more secluded.

On arrival at this property, guests will find a small porch with hanging space for coats, opening onto the hallway, off from which they will find the spacious lounge/diner with its comfy sofas, TV, and Blueray player, the perfect place to relax in front of the electric fire. The dining table allows for formal meals, and patio doors which open onto the enclosed patio garden encourage al fresco dining. The very well equipped kitchen, has everything that guests will need to make their favourite meals, including a double oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Stairs lead to the first-floor accommodation where there are two bedrooms. The first of these is a restful double room with views across the town’s rooftops, whilst the second is a twin room which offers glimpses of the sea from the two windows. The bathroom, which is also on this floor, has a shower-over-bath and WC.

 

Outside, to the rear of the property, there is a fully-enclosed patio garden with table and chairs making it perfect for alfresco drinks. Parking for one medium car is offered in the property’s nearby garage, or alternatively there is on-street parking close by.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • Brixham is busy fishing village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.

The cottage is well equipped and perfect for a short stay. The harbour is also just a short albeit steep walk away. We struggled a bit with our push chair to get up and down the hills and steps but it is not impossible. The surroundings and neighbours were quiet.

Lovely house. Lots of places to eat close by at reasonable prices. Brixham is a beautiful place with Paignton and Torquay within driving distance.

The cottage was very comfortable, clean, well equipped and spacious. Good value for money. The location is near the lovely harbour and Brixham is most attractive. However, it is also very hilly and some people might find it hard going as the walk back up from the harbour is quite challenging! Parking down below near the harbour is expensive.

Very disappointed with this house. Can't fault cleanliness but so basic it felt unloved. Would suit as a base but not more. It felt like owners very conscious of electric bill. Love Brixham but wouldn't stay here again unfortunately.

We have been going to Sloop house for a number of years. We like it because we love Brixham, it's so close to the harbour, close to other seaside towns ie Torquay, Peignton etc but for us the important thing is, we can take our dogs, so no stress of wondering if they are OK in kennels. It's home from home. So relaxing. We can see every year that thRead moree owners are investing in the property. Every year they have updated the house. It's more than a pleasure to go there. Whether you are a young couple who want to be close to the cafes, restaurants and pubs. Or a family who want to leave the car in the garage, there's crabbing round the harbour or for a reasonable price, hop on the ferry to Torquay. It also suits our middle age group who just like to have scenic walks and a cup of coffee. Sloop house lets you have it all! Hide
