This property is located near to Brixham town centre within easy reach of the historic harbour, once the stomping ground for the area’s notorious pirates. For those who want to learn more about the town’s chequered history, there is a popular self-guided walking tour which follows in the footsteps of Black Beard. The town also has a fantastic replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship, The Golden Hind, which makes for an interesting afternoon spent exploring the decks and the hands-on exhibits. Of course, this part of Devon is well-known for its beaches and there are several within easy reach of Brixham town centre, including the main Breakwater Beach, which is just a short walk from the property.

Perched above the outer harbour and enjoying spectacular views over the marina, breakwater and across Torbay to Torquay is this delightful end terrace house. The Lookout is set above the road on a private pedestrian approach reached by either a 7 step or a 17 step flight of stairs, flagged by wrought iron railings and enjoying sea views.

The Lookout sleeps eight people and makes a great place for a larger group holiday or family celebration. The main living area is on the ground floor, comprising the lounge, dining room, and kitchen. The lounge is a homely and cosy space in which to relax, with comfortable seating a Smart TV and coal-effect electric fire. The dining room is next to the kitchen and offers a place for formal meals or somewhere to sit and read in front of the electric effect log burner. The kitchen though modestly sized is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer dryer, in fact everything guests will need to make themselves at home.

The outside door from the kitchen opens out onto a small courtyard with steep steps which take guests up to the raised decked terrace. The first floor is where guests will find the first of the four bedrooms: a double room with marina views and an en-suite shower room with walk-in shower and WC. The main bathroom is also on this floor, which has a sumptuous roll-top bath, a separate walk-in shower, and WC. Stairs lead to the second floor, where the three remaining bedrooms are located: two doubles and one bunk bedroom.

Behind the property there are 3 level terraces, which is accessed from the ground-floor. There are steep steps leading to all 3 levels, therefore we advise that children are carefully supervised. The terraces provide spectacular views over Torbay, The steps up to the terraces are unlit and are dark at night. The table and chairs on the terrace provide the perfect space to enjoy drinks whilst taking in the stunning views. The property provides guest with a free parking space for the marina car park, which is 400 metres from the property, this must be arranged prior to arrival.

We had a fabulous time at The Lookout. There are fantastic views from the living room and the outside area at the very top is a lovely place to relax. We had everything we needed (such comfortable living room sofas, plenty of kitchen equipment, comfortable beds) We will be booking again soon!

The Lookout is close to the harbour and has some fine views. In warmer weather than we had the summer house and garden furniture would certainly be used. With five adults and two very active children (6 and 8) we seemed to have plenty of space. There are plenty of things to do locally; we enjoyed the Otter Sanctuary and Butterfly House at BuckfastlRead moreeigh, and various coves at Little Dartmouth, St Mary's Bay and elsewhere. We had a lovely time. Hide

Lovely house, amazing views, clean, warm, well equipped, parking a bit of a walk. And you really must be fit and able to walk up lots of steps, to the house. Over 3 floors, and top terrace hard to reach, but worth the climb. No real garden for dogs but lots of walks to go to. We had a lovely family Christmas there. Fit in 8 people easily. I would really recommend this house to anyone who wants to stay in Brixham. It overlooks the harbour, has fantastic views from inside and out. It would not be suitable for anyone who cannot climb stairs, a feature of Brixham though. Lots to do in the area around, and ideal for dog lovers. Shoalstone beach, rocky not sand. Berry Head wildlife reservRead moree and a fort. Fishcombe Cove, a high climb to get to it but well worth it. Has a 2nd world war battery at the top. Hide
