This charming cottage is ideally situated for lovers of outdoor pursuits. Located in the picturesque Avon valley with local pub, on the edge of the New Forest National Park and within easy reach of the coast, you’re sure to enjoy exploring the many walking and cycling routes in the surrounding area. Further afield take a trip to nearby Ringwood and Christchurch where you can while away an afternoon browsing the shops or relax in one of the popular cafes. For more of an adventure why not visit the local outdoor activity centre or try your hand at fishing.

Stepping inside, you enter the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has been furnished with care to ensure all of your comforts are considered. The kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment and microwave. There is comfortable dining space adjacent to the kitchen area, perfect for a cosy meal for two or a lazy breakfast. Just next door is the contemporary shower room with WC. Take time to relax in the inviting lounge area, where you can relax after a day of exploring and watch your favourite movie on the Smart TV. From this room a staircase leads to an enticing, mezzanine style, double bedroom with restricted head height, overlooking the lounge.

Heading outside you will find a private enclosed terrace with garden furniture, a charcoal BBQ and hot tub. This area is perfect for a spot of al fresco dining and getting some fresh air. Off-road parking for one car is available to the rear of the cottage with shared path leading to property entrance.

Shire Cottage practically perfect in every way. It is small but beautifully appointed and very tastefully decorated. The home made cake, Prosecco & doggy treats - nice touch! There is a cottage next door but somehow privacy is maintained. The hot tub was lovely with dressing gowns provided. The boot room is unbelievable with towels for your dogs. IRead moret is well situated for trips out. We went to the Woolpack and The New Queen Inn, both very dog friendly, the New Queen does a great Sunday lunch. Hide

Excellent for countryside walks. The country is right on your doorstep! Easy driving to lots of towns, villages and beaches. The accommodation is spotless, modern and comfortable and the owners are very friendly. The hot tub was immaculate and very hot! Perfect after a long day walking.

We were blown away. A bottle of wine and home backed cake on arrival. Everything thought of, towels, tea, milk and doggy treats for Lucy. Cannot recommend this holiday highly enough. Totally dog friendly which was fantastic. Hot tub was above and beyond. Looking forward to booking our holiday again here next year.

The cottage is in a good location and we found it very easy to find all the locations that we wanted to visit. It is close to the Coast and the Forest, so lots of choice of things to do and visit. We had our dog with us and everywhere was very dog friendly, which was great.

While nice and new, we felt this was at the very top of the price scale for a small one bedded cottage. Shower pressure was very low and the emergency lighting unit in the ceiling gave out a strong green glow at night which affected both our sleeping.
