This property’s idyllic location in the southern Shropshire Hills makes it an ideal location for wildlife enthusiasts, cyclists and keen walkers alike with many well marked paths easily accessible to include the Shropshire Way, Herefordshire Way and Offa's Dyke offering miles of scenic walks close to the border. Other places of interest in the area include Ludlow a vibrant market town that has regular farmers market, a medieval castle and a well attended food festival in September.  A little further afield you will find the towns of Iron Bridge, Leominster and Bishops Castle. The area is also rich in National Trust houses and gardens that open throughout the year, and for historians why not visit Powis or Stokesay Castle. 

Take in the views across the orchard of mature fruit trees before stepping into this beautifully finished barn. A spacious lounge/kitchen/diner offers a warm welcome, with vaulted ceilings show casing exposed beams and brick work that complement the contemporary colours and furnishings that the owner has carefully chosen. The lounge area is the perfect place to relax, light the wood burner on a chilly evening, curl up with a book or enjoy a good film on the TV. The kitchen/diner is open to the lounge with a well-equipped kitchen that’s great for a simple supper with an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a simple breakfast bar with stools just perfect for dining. And when the day is done there is a king-size bedroom with views onto the gardens, there is also a shower room with shower and WC on the ground floor. The barn enjoys underfloor heating throughout so is warm and cosy even in the cooler months.

Why not take breakfast outside, the French doors open onto the rear garden with table and chairs. There is allocated parking for two cars.

We visited the cottage about two years ago and it was just as clean and comfortable this time as before. Its a lovely place to spend a Holiday in. When you are there you can watch the squirrels and robins outside the Cottage. And theres a lot off lovely walks to go on.

The cottage is set in a beautiful property and amazing location with plenty of calm yet close to charming towns and villages. We enjoyed the large choice of walks so close. We can't stress enough how welcoming and kind our host have been, and we also enjoyed being left on our own to check in and check out. This level of trust is much appreciated. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Russet Barn, Lovely setting and beautiful cottage. Cottage was very clean and furnished to a very high standard. Enjoyed sitting in the garden listening to the sheep and watching the red kites. We would highly recommend to family and friends.

It's a lovely property, in a quiet, peaceful location. Very comfortable with all the appliances you could wish for. Craven Arms and Ludlow are within easy reach as are the many walks in the area. It's a great spot from which to plan your holiday. If you're into walking I highly recommend 'Walking the old ways of southern Shropshire' and the OrdinanRead morece Survey app. The many restaurants in Ludlow cater for all tastes. Shrewsbury and Hereford are only a short train ride away. Hide

The cottage is so quiet and peaceful, if you want a relaxing holiday this is the place. Watching the lambs in the next field playing (we went in May) and listening to the birds with no traffic noise whilst sitting on the patio is so restful. We have been twice and thinking of a third trip.

This cottage was perfect. It was extremely clean, warm and comfortable and had everything necessary for a relaxing break away. The owners are very friendly and the welcome pack was a lovley bonus. By far the best cottage we have ever stayed in and we highly recommend it.

The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and cosy, and set in a beautiful part of Shropshire with good access to many nearby walking routes. The view from the cottage was far and wide, uninterrupted by any other houses. The hosts themselves were lovely and very helpful. Overall, a perfect place to spend a week (or longer).

Well-fitted out barn conversion in a suitably remote location. The under-floor heating was very effective, and the log fire is a great addition. Great accommodation and location. Stunning countryside - has to be the best in England. Cottage has everything you need and has been very thoughtfully decorated and kitted out. Extremely comfortable bed. You do need a car since the bus service is on the sparse side but there is so much to see you'd want wheels anyway. Highly recommend.

Russet Barn is a lovely, comfortable barn conversion, set in a peaceful, rural location, yet just a 20 mins drive from Ludlows restaurants, cafes and shops. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The local area is great for walking, visiting quaint market towns and castles or simply just relaxing.

This cottage is kept to a very high standard. Spotlessly clean and in a great location to explore the surrounding area. The owners were very friendly and made sure that everything was ok for us. I have no hesitation in recommending and would use again if we were staying in the area.

What a stunning and immaculate property - which looks out onto such beautiful countryside. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and all rooms were a really good size. This is a lovely, comfortable well equipped barn in a quiet rural location There's a lovely welcome treat waiting for you when you arrive. It's an idea spot for exploring the more rural areas of south Shropshire with all of its many walks. Ludlow is about 20 minutes drive away with its many restaurants - treat yourself to Sunday lunch at the FeatheRead morers or an evening meal at Bistro Seven. Superb cottage with everything you could wish for including a really useful welcome pack. A warm welcome and a very comfortable bed. We were blessed with very hot weather during our stay, so it was lovely to come back and sit in the shade of the garden in the afternoons. Great location for visiting Hereford, Ludlow and Carding Mill Valley.

Lovely spotlessly clean accommodation, with everything you need. Great location for walks and visiting historical places. Owners very friendly, nearby if needed, but not intrusive in any way. If wanting somewhere quiet and peaceful, but not too far from local amenities then this is the place.

What a superb property. It was extremely well appointed and, as previously mentioned by other guests, the king sized bed was very comfortable. The equipment was extensive and had everything we needed.
