This delightful cottage is set in the heart of Appledore and is situated right on the waterfront overlooking the estuary, a fabulous location at any time of year.

Enjoy the North Devon coastline with its breathtaking scenery, long sandy beaches and sheltered coves, as well as attractions to suit all tastes which include The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Dartington Crystal, golf, swimming and more. You will also be just over a mile from the golden sands at Westward Ho! Popular attractions close by include Clovelly, a unique cliff-side fishing village, RHS Rosemoor Gardens and Tapeley Park. In the evening visit one of the many popular pubs and restaurants all within walking distance or relax in the patio garden and watch the ships sail past.

On entering this unusual former fisherman’s cottage, at street level you are greeted by an entrance hall with three bedrooms, a king-size, a double and a 2’6” twin bedroom. There is also a shower room with shower and WC, to refresh you for the day. Heading down the open tread staircase (with low head height),  to the lower ground floor you are wowed by the panoramic estuary views from the large open-plan lounge/diner. Relax on the comfy corner sofa, watch your favourite TV show on the Smart TV - if you can tear yourself away from the view, or cosy up in front of the wood burner effect gas fire. The large picture window makes this a bright and light area. The dining area has an extending table and chairs with plenty of room to dine comfortably. The kitchen is well-equipped for all budding chefs with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer as well as a dishwasher. There is a useful separate WC with utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Stepping outside, there is a six metre terrace with space for all ages to relax . Enjoy al fresco meals with the charcoal BBQ and garden furniture allowing you to enjoy the panoramic view of the estuary across to Instow. There is roadside parking nearby and public car park available, subject to availability and please note local charges apply. Please note the sea wall is at waist height and so care is needed with young children and dogs.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a fantastic time, in a lovely cottage in an amazing location

We had a lovely 3 night break here with our daughter, her husband and grandchildren, plus their dog, who loved the long walks at Instow beach and the burrows. The wet day box was a fantastic idea. This place is so well equipped and the location is amazing.

All in all a very lovely cottage full of character. The view from the back is stunning and fascinating to watch the tides in and out. The double and King beds extremely comfortable and bathroom of a very high standard. Very well equipped.

Location, location, location!!! Wow what a beautiful view to wake up to every morning. We thoroughly enjoyed the views of the estuary. Great location for doggy parents! Our dog Tiggy enjoyed her walks on the beach. The adjacent beach isnt really a great place to take a dog as its very muddy but the beach you can see from the garden isnt far. The cottage was fantastic. Just what we wanted. Amazing views, and so close to the main bit of Appledore. Really good size for our family (2 adults and a nearly 6 and nearly 4year old). Just lovely. Only thing I would caution is the stairs could be problematic for anyone with smaller children.

Cottage is beautiful and so relaxing to sit by the water of an evening. Crabbing over the fence was brilliant. Yes there are builders next door but we were out all day so no bother at all.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Bedrooms comfortable and both doubles have amazing views. Definitely should be a picture of the bathroom on the site as this was perfect, huge shower and finished to a really high standard. Very noisy and lots of dust of drilling and mixing concrete on the patio. Slightly ruined our week. Hide

Delightful location matched by quality accommodation

Reviewed by Ea, 3rd May 2019

Pedro is a well appointed and tastefully decorated cottage in a superb location with ever changing views over the estuary. We loved everything about the property including all the cooking basics so often lacking in rental properties. Parking wasn't a problem - we managed to park outside the cottage each night. We would definitely return.

A lovely cottage, brimming with character, but very comfortable and cosy. An amazing view across to Instow on the estuary and a short walk to Appledore. Lovely sheets etc and an amazing shower! Would stay again.
