A fantastic en-suite accommodation in a beautiful Brecon Beacons setting, with lots to see and do right on your doorstep. A lovingly presented home to return to and relax in at the end of your day.

Secluded converted henhouse set in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Country and mountain walks are right on your doorstep, with the Sugar Loaf and Skirrid providing an amazing backdrop. Three miles to the delightful, historic town of Abergavenny with an eclectic mix of shops, pubs and restaurants, with regular food festivals and markets to enjoy. Visit nearby galleries, museums and historic castles at Grosmont, White Castle and Raglan. Interesting days out at Blaenavon Iron Works and The Big Pit or perhaps try star gazing at the Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre. There are plenty of activities to enjoy including riding, golf, kayaking on the Usk and Wye or a visit to Hay-on-Wye, the town of books, which is within easy reach.

This beautiful property, lovingly converted in 2017 makes a perfect venue for a large group or family gathering, with the five en-suite bedrooms and two open plan lounge/kitchen/dining spaces offering plenty of privacy for all involved. Entering the largest of these living spaces the double height interior is a marvellous surprise with a light and airy feel and clean contemporary finish. There are two leather sofas around a large coffee table where you can play games or watch the Smart TV. On the other side of the room is a stylish modern kitchen with granite peninsular equipped with an electric oven, large induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and Bluetooth speaker. Beyond the peninsular is a smart walnut dining table from where French doors lead to a patio area, with a teak dining table and chairs, and enclosed garden beyond. There are three bedrooms that lead from this large crisp living space: a spacious king-size bedroom with a large en-suite limestone wet room and WC, a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC, and a twin room (that can be made up as a super-king-size on request) with an en-suite bathroom. Through a corridor from the living area you'll find the second large open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining space. Again there are two leather sofas around a reclaimed wood coffee table and Smart TV. This kitchen has a charming country character, and is well equipped with an electric oven with induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, washing machine and Bluetooth speaker. This bright welcoming space also has a marvellous pine dining table, with benches, that comfortably seats ten. Bi-fold doors lead to a further patio area and enclosed garden. There are two bedrooms that lead from this living space: a spacious king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC, and a twin room (that can be made up as a super-king-size on request) with an en-suite bathroom. A fabulous and warming property, with underfloor heating that make this a super retreat at any time of year.

Outside there are large enclosed gardens which are laid to lawn, there is a patio, garden furniture and lovely views. There is ample private parking by the property.

What a stunning holiday home! Shane the owner was helpful and frIendly and on hand There were 9 adults and 5 dogs and still loads of room for private time. The quality of the equipment and appliances is great. The bedrooms are spacious and comfy.all on suite which was perfect. The one with the wet room which was huge! Location is great with easy route into Abergavenny. Very quite and peaceful. Good walks straight from the door. Accommodation is ok but would benefit from more storage especially in the bathrooms and upgraded white goods to one half. We had such a fantastic weekend, the property was spotlessly clean on arrival and ideally laid out, absolutely perfect for our family (and dogs) requirements. Absolutely gorgeous property and location. Everything had been thought of. Just take food. Lovely walks straight from the property, huge starry skies at night, even the space station did a fly past.! Plenty of hot water and comfortable bedrooms.

The Old Henhouse is probably the best accommodation we have stayed in during over 25 years of cottage holidays in England and Wales. Everything was clean and well maintained, all the bed linen and towels were good quality and felt fresh and clean - not always the case in some cottages! This property is probably the best we have ever stayed in with en suites in every bedroom. The views are spectacular and the owners very courteous and helpful. Just be aware that the lane up to the property is single track and horses and tractors use it frequently. Brilliant!!

Great accommodation for our large family holiday and five dogs. So much space and everything we needed, including dog towels! Shane was very helpful and there if needed. Lovely location with plenty of hills to climb! Would highly recommend.

The Old Henhouse is a tranquil oasis in a beautiful location with breathtaking views. Our hosts, Shane and Harriet were very welcoming and accessible. The property is well equipped and spacious with lovely gardens (which our dogs enjoyed as much as the humans in the group). A great base for exploring the local area. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Henhouse. What a stunning spot - just perfect for exploring the surrounding area. Shane and Harriet made us very welcome, and were extremely helpful with any queries we had. The house was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. We would thoroughly recommend a visit, and we hope to be back soon!

We have the two accommodations joined, it's perfect for our family gathering! The enclosed gardens are great for our dogs. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped, well layout, and just excellent! The hosts are lovely, they provided us with all the helpful information beforehand and made us feel welcomed while we were there. Highly recommended!
