A peaceful base for a relaxing holiday, this contemporary barn conversion is set within a small working farm near the town of Wantage, surrounded by three renowned Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Set on a small working sheep farm within the Vale of the White Horse, this stylish property offers views over surrounding fields, spacious rooms and style in abundance. The perfect spot for walkers and nature lovers alike, the property is nestled between the Cotswolds, Chiltern Hills and North Wessex Downs, with a wide choice of picturesque routes on offer. The nearby town of Wantage, known as King Alfred’s birthplace, is the subject of many photographs and has a selection of pubs, restaurants and a historic marketplace, which is home to live music during the summer months. Enjoy a trip to The Courthill Centre, Uffington Castle or Blenheim Palace. Or perhaps indulge in some retail therapy and visit Bicester shopping village.

On entering the semi-detached barn you are met by a welcoming hallway, which leads into the bright and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. A door to a central  atrium and bi-fold doors to the rear flood the room with light. The stylish kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. This sociable space is cleverly divided to create a lounge area with wood burner, TV/DVD, plus a large dining space, making this the perfect place to unwind after a day spent exploring. A handy utility room is next door and houses the washing machine and tumble dryer. Heading back into the hallway you will find a ground floor king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin on request), with en-suite shower room with WC, a twin room with en-suite shower room with WC, and a double room. There is a bathroom located opposite with bath, separate shower and WC. Rising from the kitchen area is a staircase, giving access to the first floor, which has a spacious king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC.

I literally can not recommend these barns enough. We stayed here in all 3 barns for the long weekend. I appreciate we got married that weekend and may have a super-positive view but genuinely they can not be faulted. The rooms are spotless with incredibly comfortable beds. Wonderful, spacious, impressive and modern barn. It has everything from home to home. Would have liked to stay a bit longer. one small complaint about TV, we felt it a bit too small for such a big room.

A group of 6 stayed i the cottage for a long weekend in November. It was a lovely stay in a very well appointed cottage. The bedrooms were great and lots of en suite provision, the bathrooms were clean and well stocked.
