This property is located right at the heart of the somewhat quirky seaside town of Whitstable, just off the main street and opposite a welcoming pub. The town is awash with places to eat and specialises particularly in the local seafood which is still brought into the town’s attractive harbour. The shops in the town are perfect for an afternoon spent browsing, as they are mainly independent boutiques which are sure to delight shoppers who are looking for something a little different than they would find in the usual high street stores. The pretty beach is great for enjoying seaside walks all year round, and it is possible to walk around the bay to the nearby of Tankerton and Seasalter, or even on to the neighbouring town of Herne Bay, some five miles away.
The front door of this cottage opens onto the light and airy lounge, with its carefully chosen furnishings, TV/DVD, and warming wood burner in the exposed stone fireplace. This room leads onto the separate dining room, which in turn, leads to the sleek and contemporary galley-style kitchen where guests will find an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, and washing machine. A wet room with WC is also located on the ground floor. Stairs from the dining room lead to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms as well as a bathroom which boasts a bath, separate shower, and WC. The first of the bedrooms on this floor is a pretty king-size room, whilst the second is a restful double. The third bedroom, accessed through the double bedroom via steep stairs, can be found on the second floor: a light-filled twin room which has a sloping ceiling and therefore some reduced head-height.
Outside, there is a private patio garden at the front for guests to enjoy, as well as a handy side alley which can be used for storing bikes, or canoes, etc. Unusually for the town centre, there is private parking available for one car.
