Castleton, set in the heart of the Esk Dale, with shop, tearoom and pubs a short walk from this grade II listed cottage. Why not take the train along the scenic railway line to Whitby and spend a day exploring the alleyways and cobbled streets which offer an eclectic mix of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Slightly further afield is the bustling market town of Pickering with its historic castle, Dalby Forest with miles of cycle tracks to enjoy and the beautiful Castle Howard. Other pretty market towns worth a visit include Helmsley and Malton which both have a variety of shops and local produce, Malton is fondly known as Yorkshire’s food capital and has regular food fayres. Not forgetting the nearby beaches for you to enjoy.

Step through the front door and you will find an inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and a dining table in front of the double doors leading onto the patio. Cosy up on the stylish sofa and enjoy the warmth of the wood burner and catch up on your favourite TV show or plan your activities for the following day. Venture up the spiral staircase where you will find the gorgeous bedroom with a king-size bed, Smart TV, wonderful views down the valley and a stylish en-suite shower room with shower and WC.

Excellent property for a couple plus dogs. Had everything we needed - lovely location and views. Village has a pub which does nice food and a Co-Op open until 10pm every night which is very handy. Joe was an excellent host - will definitely be coming back.

Lovely cottage.. perfect for us two and our mini poodle..Big garden..plenty of good local walking and shops. Joe..the owner is very helpful..There if needed. Regular visitors now..been a few times.Always spotless.tidy and clean.

The cottage is lovely with gorgeous views across the valley. Our hosts made us very welcome and were always on hand if we needed anything. Castleton is well served with a Co-op store and a pub and provides an ideal base for exploring the nearby countryside and coast. We had a great time and would not hesitate in booking there again in the future.

Booked this cottage for a week away with my husband and the dog, and was not disappointed. The cottage is lovely, well decorated and equipped with everything needed for our week away. The decking and gardens were also perfect and secure for our dog to play in. Joe (the owner) lives next door and was very friendly, she suggested a number of local waRead morelks for us and the dog, as well as recommending a number of pubs and coffee shops nearby. Beautiful cottage furnished to a high standard with all the equipment/mod cons you would need on a self catering stay. The most beautiful view from the cottage which you can sit and enjoy meals. Local shop and pubs nearby. The genuinely welcoming owners were always available but never required. Highly recommended and had a lovely relaxing time

We had a truly amazing stay at Blakey View Cottage. Jo and her family are excellent hosts. The cottage is very cosy and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable- which is a very important part when youre away from home. Everything you needed was in the kitchen area. A lovely few days away in Blakey View Cottage. Lovely decor, comfortable, warm. Joe made us feel very welcome with a tour of the cottage, bottle of fizz, cheesecake and strawberries, and recommendations of things to do. The cottage was well located for walks and local pubs, as well as a morning trip to the beach with the pup. We will be back!

Lovely wee cottage, ideal for 2 people. Had a good week with nice weather. Good locatin, easy accessible for the countryside and the coast. Well equipped cottage with all that you needed, nice welcome pack of delicious lemon flap jacks, milk etc. Very friendly owners next door. Warm and cosy, comfortable bed, would recommend.

Lovely stay. The cottage is beautiful and the location is stunning. The hosts are very friendly, with a very sweet dog. We took our dog with us, and our only disappointment was finding out that he was not allowed on the sofa/bed after we had arrived. He struggled to understand why he wasn't allowed to do anymore. Beautiful clean well appointed cottage. On arrival we were greeted by the owners and told about the local area. There was milk , prosecco and cake in the fridge. Plenty of dishwasher tablets and cleaning stuff. Even things like oil and condiments were provided. The cottage itself was gorgeous and very clean. Just perfect will visit again.

Absolutely lovely cottage, thats well equipped. Views are stunning and so nice to sit on patio for meals. Perfect for dogs. Patio is enclosed. Loads of walks literally from the door. Local Coop is a 5 minute walk and has all you need. Perfect location for lots of places to visit and wonderful walks on the moors. A visit to Lion Inn on the Blakey RiRead moredge is a must. We had a lovely holiday. Our first one with our 2 year old cockapoo. He loved the garden and long walks. We had mixed weather so got to use fire at the start of week and then sit outside and enjoy the lovely view the rest of the week. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Our second stay in this lovely cottage and definitely plan to come back again. The location is outstanding and there are plenty of lovely walks from the doorstep. Lots of amenities and places to visit nearby. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Weve had a fantastic time!

A cosy and very comfortable cottage with amazing views along the valley. It's ideally situated for exploring the local area and there are so many walks and tracks, both over the moorland and along the river - on 3 days we just walked in different directions from the front door! We had a very warm and friendly welcome from Joe, the owner who lives next door,. Much appreciated the brownies and Prosecco in fridge. Wonderful views from garden. Jo, was very helpful and friendly, the cottage was very clean and comfortable and in an ideal place, close to some good walks for the hound and near enough to the coast , for beach walks. We enjoyed the views from the cottage greatly.

The cottage is spotless the spiral staircase could be challenging you definitely need something on your feet as it a bit uncomfortable, our dog eventually master them but was a bit nervous the only thing I'd say it lacks is a mirror downstairs the garden is perfect for sitting out safe for your dog

What a fantastic little cottage with everything we needed. Local coop came in very handy, as did all the village pubs nearby with excellent food. Absolutely loved the surrounding countryside and the short distance to the coast. This is an idyllic comfy, cosy cottage looking right across the Moores, great for hiking straight from home. The log burner made it quite special especially mid winter, very warm. The bedroom is spacious & very comfy. We stayed over new year which is a premium time but very enjoyable. The village is very friendly & a great pub 5 minutes walk. The Owners Joe n Mike are a very nice couple who understand all your needs and just cant do enough for you. The view from the patio is to die for with scenic walks around the Howe. Its a very quiet area especially at night with no disturbance whatsoever.
