Upper Brailes is just east of Shipston-on-Stour, set on the edge of the Cotswold’s, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a wealth of walking, with villages just ready to explore. Attractions within easy access to include Shakespeare’s birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle, Oxford with its dreaming spires and Cheltenham, home of the Gold Cup. There are also many National Trust Properties and gardens including Blenheim Palace and Chastleton House, with Brook Cottage Garden, the Bloxham Museum and the Civil War battlefield of Edgehill also well worth a visit. For shoppers, Bicester shopping village is within easy access and offers a great day out. Foodies will love the selection of nearby pubs and restaurants, and the local French artisan bakers.

Salamander Studio was very clean & well equipped with some very nice touches to make it very homely, Caroline the owner was very friendly & helpful I really can't fault it. It was set in a great location in a lovely village with great countryside around.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Caroline is a lovely host. Helpful & friendly and left a lovely welcome pack. Studio is very equipped to a high standard. Studio is spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend a stay here for visiting the Cotswold and surrounding areas easy to get too.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Salamander. It was in a perfect location to explore the surrounding areas. Caroline is a wonderful host and the studio is perfect. Spotlessly clean and all fixtures, fittings and furnishings of superb quality. It is a true bolt hole, a peaceful haven and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This is a delightful bijou cottage of impeccable taste and the very best of quality in all aspects. There is a nice table & chairs for that outside glass of wine or to have a quiet read facing the Green outside. Parking is right to the door. We really enjoyed our stay at Salamander. The quality of the accommodation, fixtures & fitting is excellent. Caroline, the friendly & helpful owner, provided us with a very thoughtful food 'welcome pack' which included prosecco!!! We have just spent a wonderful week at the Salamandar Studio. From the generous arrival pack to the beautiful decor and even down to the quality cutlery, crockery and toiletries supplied, everything was perfect. Caroline, the owner, was a wonderful host suggesting places to eat and visit of which there are many. An altogether great experience.

Salamander Cottage is a real find and perfect bolthole for a couple. Trendily and beautifully decorated and furnished and with all the kitchen/bathroom/bedroom equipment you could want. It was well located for visits to Upton House, Hidcote, Snowshill, Broadway and Chipping Camden, with spectacular views of the Cotswolds minutes away.
